Sorry Wilix, im with the rest of them, I was braking and you can hear and feel the ratcheting as the brakes are applied harder.... my thoughts are that its just a tad too sensitive in its initial diagnosis that there is an imminent impact. Most of the times it happens as the car infront pulls into a drive way and you are driving around it.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Well I'm putting in an order this week, doing the rounds of the dealers, geez that is as much fun as a stick in the eye. Another one to visit tomorrow, trying to get a LTD CRD with ORAII down under $70k.....

Well the day has finally arrived, tomorrow I get the car

While I was at the dealers today I noticed 2 Summits on the lot, one Black & one white, both diesels, interiors looked like they might be gray.
If anyone is interested they are at Belcar Glen Osmond Rd (SA), ask for Gordon and tell them Salmo sent you.
(no conection, just a customer)

Finally! Now you know how kids feel on Christmas Eve.

Congrats Salmo. Remember to post pics once you have it at home. I never get tired of looking at photos of JGC's.

Speaking of Christmas, when I saw the car on Monday it had just come off the truck, still had all the plastic etc on the inside and one of the salesman said to me 'its open, you can get in'. As much as I wanted to I didn't as it would feel a bit like opening your presents before Christmas day. So just pressed my nose up against the windows.

You have more self control than I would have Salmo. What time is pick-up?

GMWK2 - I can wholeheartedly relate to that sign. We live in a house that has few solid walls but many floor to ceiling windows that encompass 3/4's of the rectangle IYKWIM. It is known locally as the 'glass house' Damn dogs and windows. I need that sign.

Dunno if there is any truth to it, but I was told the Summit is only a limited edition model. Approx 300 for Aus?

It has happened to me a few times, especially the first time, that ratcheting sound scared the heck out of me.

Actually, each time that it has happened to me, it was when a car was either turning off or pulling over to the left. I was already avoiding the car by going round it so it's actions were completely unnecessary. Perhaps it wanted me to leave more room between me and the other car.

On another note, took the Jeep onto the beach at Noosa north shore the other week, performed flawlessly. I bought some MaxTrax and a snatch strap, figured it's a good habit to carry them. Only used the MaxTrax... but that was to help out my mate in his hired Rav4.
