Yep I'd be worried if it was a DPF

No warnings came up. All looked normal. It was very strange and I feel dangerous. The second time happened after I slowed down to go around a turning car. started to changed lanes and then started losing momentum. I was travelling at a low speed (approx. 30k). cars behind me were not happy. Lucky there was a spot to pull over. Again restarted the car and all good again

SJandL I would so do the drive up for this proposed meet
would be a good excuse for a road trip (not sure the kids would love the 8 hour car ride )

Sounds like the torque converter isn't locking up. Take it to the dealer. Also check the transmission oil level. If its low, id be demanding a new 8 speed. It would have fried it.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Hi All
Haven't posted for a while - very busy time of year. Catch up on all the posts on this thread once a week or so.
SJ&L - great idea about a meet but not sure if I can get time off to drive up from down south.
One query - has anybody else had a problem with their cruise control (Limited model so no adaptive). If I'm cruising along with cruise control on and accidentally press the Cruise ON/OFF button instead of the Cancel, the cruise function disappears completely. If I pull over and turn the car off and start up again the function still won't work - no icon appears on EVIC. Won't start up again until the car has been turned off and left for a while to think about it. Very odd. This is the only consistent bug I am experiencing.
What a lovely drive. Already done over 11,000 kms.

Hi colozzie, I press on off all the time on my limited accidentally, and just switches back on completely normally and then reset to speed.

Mine was a July delivery - maybe get the update, but that sounds a bit weird to me.

Crawling around under the new truck (as you do) looking at things like the bash plates which are part of ORA2. Whilst I don't do much serious 4WD these days I would be concerned about the protection of the ZF if I did.

There are good solid plates over the sump and transfer case but the ZF plastic sump pan gets a flimsy plastic sheet. It does sit reasonably high compared to the bash plates but could still be vulnerable if you were "rock hopping".

The pressed thing your talking about is actually the tow hitch cover/bezel. It's ABS plastic with the SRT embossed/recessed into it. They don't come this way standard, I had to buy it. (but apparently in the US you get this bezel when you order the towpack)

All of my 500 odd k's have been work related so far . But i'm meeting up with two other SRT guys tomorrow over a beer so we may begin talks of a drive day. I've also floated the idea of an SRT club with the local dealer to see if they would sponsor the club in some way but early days on that yet.
hi dcrsrt, nice car. it seems you have ordered the same as me. i'm in vic though and still waiting for mine to turn up at the dealer. could you advise where you bought the SRT towbar cover?

Haven't noticed that issue with my Laredo although sometimes it is a bit touchy turning on but usually works after a couple of goes..

Called the dealer this morning and was told to bring it in for a look on Monday. If I get in trouble I should call jeep assist. So I'm still driving and so far so good. Fingers crossed it was just a electronic issue.

iboughtajeep how do I check the transmission oil? Had a look under the bonnet but couldn't locate it.

Have done 120 on the clock. Loving it!!!
Looks like I'm going to need those side steps for the kids after all. I was hoping not to put them on but the kids are struggling to get in and out :-/

What a lovely drive. Already done over 11,000 kms.

My cruise control issue happens when you keep your finger on the +set speed for more than a couple of seconds...the Cruise icon goes out and then the cruise cannot be re-nabled...again have to stop the car turn it off wait and then start the car and its again available.

I know this won't solve your problem - unless the icon goes out while the car is acceleration to the new speed - but: This is the only car I have owned where if you press and hold the + or - button, the set speed changes in 10 km/h intervals until you release the button. The new "target" speed can be 10, 20 30 km/hr away from the current speed. The increments are at about 1 sec intervals, so you have to get used to judging the time you hold the button and/or watch the cruise speed indicator as it goes up or down. The car then accelerates up to the set speed. This had me confused for a while as I was expecting the car to accelerate while I was holding the button, then settle at whatever that speed was.
Thanks,
Russell

Mine works different, as per other vehicles, push & release set + / - &speed change approx 1.5 Kim's press & hold speed ramps up until released.
I haven't checked since I updated the U connect last Friday so hope it hasn't changed.
