Yeah, I have this issue, frustrates the crap out of me! Front sensors only and it is the red sensors which means the so called object is within 30cm. On some days I get it every time I stop, regardless if there is no traffic around and on other days it only goes off 1in 10.

I have an appointment with the service guys tomorrow, I'll keep you updated if anything comes of it.

Thanks in advance
Welcome geomax. Not to be rude but that's a decision for yourself. Drive the 2013 and then drive the 2014, simples. QL is height adjustable air suspension. Dude I know the dealers don't know much about the cars but surely they could have explained that one to you.

Why not switch it off during the traffic n switch it back on when coming to park. After all, it's sensor for parking....

Tried that until I almost scratched it whilst parking because I forgot to turn the sensors back on. Do you also think that is a solution for a $75k GC? If there is only a handful with the issue, why would we put up with it?

Amen.

Check that a sensor hasn't been dislodged from the bumper inside... have an assistant use a stick to check each sensor individually. If one is lame it's a fair sign one is swinging in the breeze.

Cheers,
Steve

Was proud of my MY14 SRT. Drove her from Melbourne to Swan Hill and back on a single tank. 700kms, had a trip average of 10.6L/100km. Used Eco mode for majority of the trip. It's hard to know when Eco mode works when driving. I would've thought the sound of the engine or something makes this mode more noticeable, but it's hard to tell. As soon as you put your foot down, it seems to disengage. So it's quite sensitive to the throttle and maybe just comes down to the way you play the throttle. But I did notice a reduction of around instant 2L/100km when this kicks in. Anyone else have similar experience?

Angry Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I'm really sorry if this has already been covered - but I promise I did try to read most of the 500-odd pages of this thread before posting.

Bought '14 Jeep GC Overland.

So far - I've had the following problems:

1. The air suspension seems to get stuck on 'Raising' mode intermittently. Because of elderly parents, I have to put it into entry/park mode every so often, but when I drive off, it seems to get stuck in 'raising' and the only way to get out of this mode is to put it into 'sport' and wait for it to change to 'aero', and then finally change it back to 'normal' driving mode.

2. Having all sorts of problems with the information system (unconnect?):
  • the GPS volume changes by itself (sometimes loud, sometimes really soft). When I attempt to manually change it (to say volume level '15' - and then go back to check 10 secs later, it will change itself to '18'.
  • the whole uconnect system failed. Completely blanked out. Turned the car off/on several times to no avail.
  • The difference between setting the temperature at 19 degrees vs 20 degrees is massive. One blows like hot air (20 degrees) and the other blows cold air. Weird
  • The warning light for vehicles in your blind spot - works intermittently. Very dangerous as my pregnant partner has really started to rely on this functionality!!
  • The gps keeps telling me that a speed zone is 60km (when its clearly written on the gps that its 100km)
  • The auto dimming function (for the internal rear mirror) does not seem to be working? Or if it - there is no noticeable difference?
I've taken it back to Jeep dealer now on 2 occasions (they've managed to bring the uconnect back to life) and now they want me to take it in for a 3rd occasion. They tell me that they have completely reinstalled all the software for the car - bit worried that it might not be a software problem as they claim?

Can anyone (in Australia and who has recently bought the new jeep gc) shed any light on the this problem and if they have had similar problems?

Thanks in advance. H

Others will add informatiive comment over the day for you - however, in the meantime:-

I have been blessed with a car with little faults. Only once has my car got caught with the Screen flashing "raising" in a locked position. It finally went off when my speed changed it to "aero" mode. Has not happenned again.
My GPS volume is faultless so cannot comment.
Temp. One side hot. Other cold etc. Probably the most common problem in varying ways with members. Mine also blew hot one side, cold the other which was correct with a Uconnect update. Most with this problem have probably had it corrected by now.
Blind Spot monitoring....I cannot assist because mine has been faultless.
GPS giving wrong speeds. This is common but I did not blame the Uconnect/NAV system. I had put it down to wrong information being relayed to my GPS. Mine may well give the wrong speed, ie 60kmph when in an 80kmph zone BUT the speed showing on the screen was the same as the Voice was calling out so have not experienced your actual problem.
Auto dimming feature. I think others have complained here but mine has been faultless.
I am actually scared to take my car in for the 6 monthly service shortly because I have had very few problems and worried when they do all the updates to the Uconnect they may create new problems I am yet to experience.
Oh, I forgot the Uconnect going blank. A very common problem that most have remedied by pressing the "mute"/Volume" buttons simultaneously to re-boot the screen. It has happenned to me twice in 6 months. Once it corrected itself and once (whilst driving) I hit the mute/volume buttons and it came back on. Some have had terrible problems so you
are not alone. One good thing though is I am sure most if not all of your problems are fixable. Enjoy that car.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Hez5 - what is your Uconnect version? It should be 13.39.51. You can find this out by going to Settings ---> System information.
