The Jeep supplied 7 pin socket, from what I can see, doesn't have a built in reed switch and only has the 7 standard connection wires going to it. I don't know how the sensors become inactive unless the Canbus system senses a load change from the trailer lighting.

Steve,
Mine turn off with a trailer connection, was fitted by John Hughs

So the service guys seem to think that the sensors are part of the recall, it had crossed my mind that this could be the case. TSB applied and the problem resurfaced on the drive home. Arrgghhhh!!! With regards to the rough shifting, as I said, the GC was behaving on the way up with only the odd noticeable rough shift. They applied the TSB for the rough shifting and it seemed to be smooth on the way home, jury is still out until at least a week of driving around. I also get a distinct vibration at about 800-1200RPM's when going up a slight grade in 3-6 gears between 30-45kmph. It is definitely a transmission vibration yet they seemed to think the TSB would also fix it. Since it was behaving on the drive up with only a light vibration, the jury is out on this one as I'm pretty sure I could feel it on the drive home, albeit much less noticeable. They also thought that doing a wheel balance could fix the issue. I said it is definitely not a vibration from wheel imbalance. They did it anyway, I just hope that I don't end up with a vibration at 100kph now. They updated my uConnect to the latest version which I am happy with. All in all, frustrated with the sensors which makes me suspect about anything else being fixed. I'm on holidays so if it misbehaves I will have the time to drive it to the service centre and make one of them jump in to feel my pain
It seems I have many of those issues, can you let me know what the TSB number is please so I can tell my dealer ? Also having issues keeping the air on on recirc and lights turning on in daylight when on auto .

You can see all TSBs here
Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 - Grand Cherokee Service Bulletins and Recalls

Transmission is 3rd one down, there is none for the lights coming on early.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

For those with the Cruise Control Dropping out (and cannot be re-enabled) Problem:

I'm just back from the dealer (again!) ..they contacted Chrysler and they have said it is now a recognised issue..and are working on a software fix ...BUT "It could take some time". How long is a piece of string.?

Not happy as NONE of the TSB's - The Erratic Gearbox issue the N58 Recall Issue...NONE were done today.

Apparently as I was told it was the Wi-tech computer unable to talk to the US.... all day...?!!

Now I have to go back again next week for another go...(only got next weeks appointment after pushing hard.)

.....'Don't Hold back' lol !!

I'm driving myself crazy. I'm sure I have seen that the ambient lighting is adjustable but I can't find it again in the manual or when I search in the cars settings. Any help would be great, or else I'm in for a sleepless night.

That would make sense, except what about when no trailer lights are on?

In my Laredo I just roll the wheel near the light switch.
