If it does work that way, when the trailer plug is plugged in the resistance of the lighting circuits would change, that's what would be sensed by the canbus.

I don't think it applies to AUS market as the TSB does not mention Export Market

Thanks for your reply.
Just found that. On page 180 of the manual it says it can be adjusted using the soft buttons on the uconnect, but my screen doesn't show ambient lighting, the first option is Headlights off delay. Got to get the mud flaps fitted in a few days so I'll ask at the shop.

Doesn't specifically mention the word export, however my build date is pre 27th Aug, I have the sales code EXF for the engine and DFD for the transmission. So IMO it is specific to my GC.

Yes, applies to Australia. I asked Willx when it first came out, and he confirmed it.

I must say I am bemused if the ambient lighting is annoying you. It is so mild and timid I would hardly describe it as ambient lighting. I presume you did see my pics posted a long long time ago of REAL ambient lighting? I love ambient lighting. My favourite colour being blue but running the red coloured ambients at the moment just to be different.

How dare you! He will be very upset that you don't know him.

He is the JG resident Uconnect man. Doesn't work for them, just has close contacts.

You sure you don't live in Thomastown?

Next thing you'll be fitting underbody lighting.

But yes it's mild, and I wouldn't want it any brighter. I like a very dark cabin at night.

Haha. Perhaps he needs to show up on this forum more often.

Are you serious Willix and Milous are fantastic, they don't have to show up on the forum more often, they watch over it and comment where relevant and necessary. Most people contribute financially (small cost) to this great forum, unfortunately some tight arses choose not to.

I am so close to touching my Jeep for the first time and can't thank Willix & Milous enough for all their assistance as well as the contributions made by regular contributors here in oz. I won't name them individually for fear of missing someone, but they know who they are and they have made the loooooong wait a bit more bearable.
