I have set it to memory @ 23 degrees & it still defaults back, the evic always remembers the last driver settings unless you push the memory button 1 or 2. I have never set the key fob with a memory, confused still

I could not believe that there I was driving a "top of the range" car because as far as I was concerned I was in the drivers seat of a car that gave you the pleasure, feel, exhilaration of driving a car many times it's value. Remember to post a pic.
Mine is due in March, though the dealer hasn't got back to me with any details yet (familiar story). I loved the test drives, I'm hoping the one I get drives as well and doesn't have any of the niggly issues others have been complaining about, fingers crossed. I saw a red limited on the road this morning, found myself chasing it to get a better look. Saw an overland in the car park yesterday, started drooling. It's exciting stuff....

Benn0, do yourself a favour subscribe as a level 4 member (less than $30 I think) then you can track where the vehicle is in the production cycle and also get access to a build sheet for your vehicle once built plus where it is when it leaves the factory, then you can track the ship it is on.

I probably will, still waiting on the VIN info from the dealer.

Word of advice.....don't wait for them to contact you - keep on to them - they have a tendency to forget.

Thanks for the critique Andy. Yep, youre right, too many kids drowning in pools, dams, rivers, lakes, sea side etc. Makes you wonder where the adults are when that happens.

But its nearly Chrissy time and I didnt mean to get politically incorrect.

I apologise unreservedly to SJ & L for my misconceived attempt at humour. (Most of it comes off, I accept that this didnt.)

SJ & L (J) is a terrific contributor to this forum and she has great info and suggestions regarding all things Grand Cherokee Jeep. If theres an issue, J is the first one to dig into the manual and find a possible remedy.

J, Seriously it is a good idea and if youre involved in organsing it, will be an enjoyable event.

Ima Vietnam Vet and we had great ambitions to organise regular Reunions when we got home after 12 months in the Phunny Country but that never happened until 1999. We have ours every 2 years now and I run our VV website, so I should and will be supportive of any suggestions that come from any Jeep Garage Forum member.

The selection, ordering, waiting and final delivery of the MY14 has been a long and arduous journey and I suppose that has affected my thought processes.

Will lighten up now as I have 3,000kms on the clock with no issues at all.

Best wishes to all for the Christmas holidays and New Year and happy and safe travels.

It is exciting. You know, ever after having my car 6 months I still chase after the car in front if it is a Jeep just to follow it and "google" over it - sad isn,t it. Fortunately, my car has almost been flawless. Hopefully luck is on your side. The problem with this site is that it probably disproportionately creates the feeling that these cars are presenting too many problems. Hopefully that is not the case in reality.

Don't let it get to you too much mate. I did not take offence as I could see you were only joking even though some could argue you were a little out of order. I have enjoyed your contributions over this journey. Merry Christmas to you too. Make sure that big busty red head with the black sunglasses on is invited near the table.

Hymer,

I know you were trying to make fun of it, but just thought that some of the content may have offended some e.g. drownings. But lets all move on.

Glad your Jeep is going well, know what you mean about the wait, thought it was bad having to wait 6 weeks for my Calais to come after the previous one (only 3 months old) got written off in a hail storm.

I vaguely think I remember you mentioning being from the eastern / bayside suburbs, if so, would appreciate feedback on where you have or intend to get yours serviced at, tossing up between Knox, Berwick & Frankston Jeep ?

Yes, I was thinking the other day that I see so many of these on the road, and only hear half a dozen complaints for a particular problem on here. Still got my fingers crossed though.....

Bluey - Just got home - thank you for your post.

I admit whilst I wasn't offended, I was very taken aback when I read your response to my suggestion and probably knee-jerkedly (is that a word?) posted.

I owe you an apology for that. My 'tongue-in-cheek' radar was seriously impaired that evening and my Kiwi back is always alert to our Aussie cousins jibes hence my response.

Re-reading my post, it was worded badly and I should have clarified with regards to the 50+ JGC's.

I was never expecting such a number - I was intending it always to be a JG thing only. I was thinking maybe 5-8 even maybe 10 at the very, very outside, but car gatherings, regardless of make, is always an issue with parking. I was just trying to say - parking off the road won't be a problem. I admit though - badly worded.

With regards to the pool thing, I'm the only female that I know (and I know a few ) that have an interest in Jeeps. You can blame that on WoW (Warbirds over Wanaka) all those years ago and the brilliantly restored Willy's that were on show along with of course the aircraft. It's a Kiwi thing.

But as I said, I'm the only one that I know of, so I just wanted to include something that perhaps the kids could do apart from what they would probably see as boring Jeep stuff that the parents do.

Still looking at it as a possibility towards the end of January - Beggsy, have taken note of your request so maybe at this stage we could look at a preference of dates from people. (?). Doesn't have to be January though - happy for a day in Feb or whenever that suits.

Bluey - thank you and my apologies once again also and very happy that you are enjoying your Jeep.

Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year.
