Mine was fitted prior to delivery with no hassles late August
Doesn't make sense.
Don't the bars come from Bestbars in New Zealand?
Wouldn't make sense for them to be on back order from the U.S.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

They had pallets of them in Wanneroo when I collected mine for DIY installation. They had the "old loom" so require a smidgen of thought when wiring in.

Actually the parts guys at Wanneroo are cool... maybe their mates in Service are top blokes too? There's gotta be one decent service department here in WA, doesn't there?

Cheers,
Steve

From my knowledge Australia do not get the tow bars from US
The US made tow bars do not meet Australian ADR's
So i think the dealers either have no idea or telling porkies still

You're right on that one. So our shortage would be as a result of being such a small market so I'd say they don't make a whole lot of them.

Fingers crossed mine is able to be sourced and installed by time of delivery....

So, who wants to buy an SSV Sportwagon

Try Bayside in Frankston or Mornington. I took delivery of my srt with towbar just last week. that was after they previously told me back in mid November that there may be a quite a wait on the towbar as they were on backorder.

Thanks Shertim. I live south of the river so wanneroo is quite a distance away. Sounds though it may be worth camping there for the day, or get a loan car, when the service is due, and hopefully get the other minor problems sorted.

Apparently the latest batch of Overlands have chrome front tow hooks on them.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Hi All

Sorry if its not the correct forum......

Got new 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland and clocked 250 kms. But having few issues...... Any recommendations???

1. Strong tyre burning smell when driving car. Smell is from the front tyres. Not sure if its because the car and tyres are brand new

2. At random times the driver side front speakers stop working for a few seconds and then comes back on. Happens on radio / USB / DISC / AUX

3. Front seat memory adjustment didnt work couple of times but now seems to work

Any suggestion will be helpful

Thanks
Abh

You didnít say what engine you have, I am going to assume the CRD.
I am assuming this as a burning smell is a common observation for the first few hundred kms in the CRD.
Our did it too, it is no longer there.

1. We had the strong burning smell for 500km or so but it has now gone. Possibly left over fluids from assembly and transportation contacting hot items.
2. I had this issue but it was fixed after a Uconnect update so check which version you have.
Hope that helps

Small market ?
Not sure about that
Average monthly sales over 900 grandcheokee's
The second largest sales in Australia.
Just a management issue i would say in not ordering supplies on time
Pretty simple really.
