That's ok then! I think its fair to say the uconnect update website is p*ss poor for anyone other than those situated in the US.

Verified with the service manager the transmission is not able to slow down the car because of the overall weight (2.5T).

2) Was told it could take 6 hours or more to fit, so at the moment the labour costs could be more than the cost of the bar. Does 6 + hours sound excessive to you?

If the computer needs adjusting I can't see why I can't fit it and then take it in to them to do their thing..

Hi Auscop I am waiting for my tow bar as it's been on back order since I took delivery of the car. Dealer has advised to allow 3 hrs for installation.

I had my 10000 km service yesterday and had all of the updates conducted and provided them the Uconnect update for them on a USB stick in case they didn't have it, they didn't. Not sure they saw the funny side of this. Anyway, I also provided my own Mobil ESP oil for them to use and had no issues and the total service cost was $240. It would seem their profit margins are in their oil costs. I went back to the place of purchase which is not close to town and required a freeway drive and I noticed that the engine oil ran 2-3 deg less (average 95-96 deg). It's only a few degrees, but when you are towing it makes a difference. Has anyone else found a difference between Castrol and Mobil oil with engine temperature? I have at least some spare oil now for my trip from Brisbane to Perth next week.

A friend of mine who is a mechanic on Canada made a comment about people not oiling their cars, so I asked him about rust protection and the electronic devices.
He said that all of the electronic ones are a heap of crap and would not let them near any of his or his friends cars.
They oil up the under carriage over there as the roads are covered in salt during winter, and will destroy any car very quickly that isnít protected.

They charge about $120 to oil protect a car for winter.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I am surprised Canada is still salting roads.
Europe banned salt over 10 years ago, mainly due to the Italian cars rusting out. They now use only grit.

What you talkn bout Willis? They still salt the roads in Europe.

I heard they stopped in Seattle a few years ago, not sure if that is still active as it was a disaster for them.

What level of premium membership entitles one for Uconnect updates download? Is the download straight forward, simple click and save as...along with instruction?
