I'm not certain, because not much info on the MY14 bar had been put forward... but it may have a "plug in" wiring solution. Ours will have to be cut in, meaning if you want to silence the rear sensors when a trailer is connected you'll need to buy a switched trailer socket and run the reverse sensors through that. Because I couldn't find a MY14 bar, and I wanted this done, I chose to do it myself.

There's several who have received a silencing arrangement via their installer... perhaps some are via a "programmed" plug and play system.

Irrespective, we'll get you sorted with what you have... and functionally it'll be the same.

Cheers,
Steve

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Here are a few pics I took the other night under the car, including wiring loom.

I will take a video tomorrow as it will give better perspective. I have given a description to some of the pics, even so it is hard to put them into context.

Auscop, can you post a pic of your hitch receiver, and I will try to see if there are any differences.

Thankfully it was still drivable. It's one month wait for parts normally but if your panel shop missed something you wait again.
Lots of people may never buy Jeep again because of this.
I have had just cause for a loan car previously and received a less than satisfactory response, so again lacking faith.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Put the Tow Baa on Baa Baaa this morning. Wasn't too hard, although I knew it wasn't going to be a breeze when it was already 32deg at 7:45 am. Instructions where pretty good although in "step 3" it referred to removing "2x plastic fittings" On the MY14 these are metal bolts that screw in to the impact beam. The tow bar has holes for the bolts but are not threaded so I had to get my own nuts, bolts and washers. They also provide a few plastic pop rivets, however you need a special tool to fit them, can't find the tool in town so I bought alternative plastic clips from SuperCheap. My only other thought on the install is that the wheel arch flares have 3 mount points that use plastic clips, these mount points are very flimsy and are very easy to break. Had to use a bit of araldite on a couple of them. Total time to put the bar on was about 3 hours, by the time I finished it was almost noon and 40deg so the wiring harness can wait until another day..

SNUKE the rest of the images of the bar are here:
