I really loved the look of the final concept they did, but it changed massively to final production.
I can't stand them. The rear is a mess of proportions and lines.
I also have a pet peeve about FWD cars masquerading as a 4WD. I said that to a guy at work who also dislikes then, and he said I guess you don't like my Ford Escape then.

Another work mate got a Captiva, loved it at first, then after using it for quite some time said it was junk.
That happens to all cars though.
I wold get a Territory over them any day of the week.

Might not be the same issue but mine has turned itself off a couple of times for no reason, will only reset after stopping the vehicle, Cricks are aware of the problem and apparently there is a software fix for this.

The Captiva has an engine designed by VM Motori and built under licence by GM. The Cruze also uses the same engine. You could almost say there is a genetic connection between the JGC and Captiva

By the of the sales figures you posted you aren't the only person thinking the Territory is a better option than a Captiva.

SNUKE oh my looks like yet another cruise control issue.

Does it disengage on its own when cruise is being used?

Not that I have noticed.
I didn't post it in your thread as as you have separate CC issue.

Hi all.
New to this forum, but really enjoying reading all about the GC. I'm considering a CRD LTD MY14 with an ARB bar (an unfortunate necessity for me), thinking I'll wait for a 2014 build. I've read in a few places the GC is due to be replaced again with a new model in mid 2014 (MY15). Can anyone share any insight on this? Also if any of you overland owners wouldn't mind sending me a PM, I'm interested in seeing what price people have paid to see if this may be an option for me. So far quotes from dealers haven't been enticing enough to draw me away from my LTD with a the optional ventilated seats. Can't wait to keep you all updated with my progress and read about all the happy deliveries for everyone in the new year. Thanks for all your insight!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

MY15 will appear in Aus in about 9 months or so from memory.
Don't expect many changes, just a few tweaks here and there, most of which seem to have been done already to MY14s.
The rumour has it that the stupid foot brake will finally be replaced. Apart form that????

I am glad I waited 12 months for a MY14 vs MY13, but i wouldn't do it for MY15 vs MY14.

There's always something new just around the corner. I suggest buying when it suits you, or to wait endlessly for the best of the best of the best.

Limited vs Overland? I don't regret spending the extra... as with all these things the higher you go up the range the harder it is to see the cost benefit. There's no Overland feature I'd hand back though

Happy deciding,
Steve

The two trips I have done in the last 3 weeks have been on Adaptive Cruise Control wherever possible. No drop outs or any complaints with it, and I did some hectic button pushing to see if I could make it fault.

Jeep Lotto huh?

Cheers,
Steve
