It is fully set up for free camping with solar 3 panels 3 batteries diesel heater and more.
Congrats, great choice, did the research too and this ended up as our top pick. They build a quality product. We hope to be buying a van later this year and do the free camping thing as well.
Looking forward to your updates.
Cheers.

Thanks for that link Webber. The opposite result to the US 4x4 mag which was posted yesterday.

Whilst one must always remain gracious when both winning or losing, our 10 year son hasn't quite learnt this lesson yet.

Noticed that 4x4 Australia note the recovery hook as a $219 dealer fitted option. So if you are quoted more you are paying too much. For the single hook that is.

Thanks for the tip - my dealer hasn't quoted a price as yet so a bit of knowledge may come in handy if his price is high.
Happy New Year!

Quite interesting to see that any vehicle that has 3.5tonne towing and is 'mid size 4wd' (say under 4.0L diesel motor) has increased where every other car has seem to decrease this year!

I have written to Jeep Australia to formally complain of the poor camera and that the lack of proper night time vision makes it unfit for purpose. I'm not holding my breath in regards to their reply but if I get some spare time I'm willing to test this under the new Consumer laws in the magistrates court. If so, apart from picture evidence, I'll refer to the thread on this forum on this issue, and that Jeep had the same issue with the WK series, which they later remedied but apparently did not learn from it. Anyone interested in filing a petition?

Yes, mine had done this from new. It got better with time due to the various uconnect updates but even now, if I press the resume button it shuts the cruise control down and it cannot be switched back on unless you pull over, turn the ignition off and restart the car.

Hi Chooke,

Totally agree with you. Ive had my MY14 Laredo for 3 months now and refuse to get the park/reverse camera installed on the basis that it is an inferior product to that has been advertised and illustrated in the MY14 Jeep GC brochures.

I have not seen the Laredo reverse/park camera in person. I am basing my opinions on the numerous (poor) comments on this Australia site as well as that in the dedicated Jeep Garage camera thread from the States.
Rear View Camera in Laredo?
I believe that the decision to install the camera after arrival was due to keeping the cost down under the Luxury Car Tax. (Hearsay).

I have been told by the dealer that it is a Jeep supplied camera but will not verify if it is a Bonafide Jeep Mopar product or not. Message is it is a poor quality resolution camera (obviously)

So Chooke, if you can formulate a petition then we can start to circulate it to get some positive action from Chrysler/Fiat/Jeep/Dodge/RAM/Alfa Aus (or whoever theyre called this week) I have been vocal on this issue (and others ad nauseum) and am currently excommunicated from Jeep Australia FaceBook page.

But there are other ways to cook a chook, Chooke

I have email connections to Jeep Oz senior management to get the ball rolling. (Hasn't helped in the past but will persevere).
After seeing the camera quality and resolution on TV of cheaper cars such as Trax and Focus there should be no reason whatsoever that the MY14 should be fitted with such a poor product.

Will send you a PM Chooke.

Good to know Mmc.

Spent the kids inheritance with the Laredo as it was without getting a Ltd or Overland.

If I had got either of those they would have had to bury me with their own money or sell the Jeep to pay for the Service.

But what is your opinion on the rear view/park camera situation? Any thoughts on that?

Bluey
