Well, if kids can make a living themselves, they're capable of accumulating wealth themselves. Otherwise, they may just squander the inheritance u have worked hard for. That said, parents incl. myself always look after kids regardless.

Re camera, here is my 2cents. Causes might be two folds 1) camera supplier: they fail to deliver quality promised to and required by Chrysler. If this is the case, Chrysler would work behind the scene with the supplier to sort it out; and 2) someone in Chrysler has botched the project costing: within cost Chrysler has budgeted for, they are unable to source camera which can delivery image quality advertised by Chrysler. But in any case, consumers have every right to demand a better one. Given the problem is pandemic, a petition first to Chrysler, if unsuccessful, then to state fair trading authority and/or ACCC will definitely help out. You may be amazed that the resolution would be fast tracked when a regulatory body might potentially get involved (speak of personal experience).

It already has, it was Fiat that injected a shotload of cash to get the Detroit and Taledo factorys up to spec for new GC and Cherokees.

Sad situation when it takes Italians to come fix up a huge quality mess that Germans (Daimler) created.
They were average before Daimler, but they got driven into the ground.

It appears Jeep Aus are bragging about the 4x4 Australia 4wd of the year... I wonder how long it will take until my comment disappears about the reversing camera on the laredo's!?

PM received, thanks. I'll see what response I get from my letter to Jeep Australia. Failing that, the petition is worth doing providing we can get a few of us to sign it.

More than happy to sign. The wait is getting ridiculous.

Agree. Hopefully the reliability is 'on the way up'' as currently Jeep members are being bogged down by mediocre problems in their new JGC, leaking oil, misaligned tail gate, loose air tank, random Uconnect shut down, random ACC shut done, etc, etc.

On separate note, 7 seater JGC might not be far away (link below)

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Forget any petition, lodge a case with the ACCC and show Jeep that you are serious.
I bet Jeep forgot to order enough reversing cameras for their Laredos, so the dealers have sourced a cheap Chinese compatible unit.
I would be removing trim and seeing what brand the cameras are.

Here is another link about 7 seater

http://news.drive.com.au/drive/motor...703-2pavn.html

Interesting to see what price tag would be and how it affects buyers decision. Personally, I'll prefer 7 seater limited to 5 seater overland, if other factors being equal.

I test drove Laredo with camera, Limited and Overland back in July. The image quality from Laredo was on par with that of Limited/Overland. Interesting to know whether 'first batch' Laredo owners experience the same problem as current owners.
