There is often a big disconnect between what you ordered, and what Jeep Aust told Detroit.
Thanks, allpally,
I know what you mean. You have probably read how I ordered an MY12 a year ago and after waiting 6 months they got me the wrong interior colour.
I will certainly be asking Milous for those build sheet details when my turn comes. I do not want that experience again.

I know for certain .
I'm really banking on Milous seeing those CRD vehicles coming through this month, hopefully. Milous obviously knows they are about to start making them.

Webber, I believe Milous is saying there are already some CRDs made and shipping.. But they may be dealer stock only for demo etc not for customer delivery.. This also lines up with what a stock controller told me from one of the vic dealers ie demos arriving late May/ June ..

So the reason Jeep Au aren't telling us what can and can't be ordered is?.
I can understand they want to sell 13 stock, but surely you would let your customers know what they can buy. Im sure there are lots of people that haven't placed orders because of this.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

As a matter of curiosity, has anyone had the experience of talking to an MY12/13 owner who regrets buying the WK2. I have spoken to at least 7 or 8 owners now and without question everyone has been very pleased with their cars. All have spoken highly of their personal experiences with this SUV. At least a few of them have stated it is the best car they have owned......just a little gossip session to help bide the time.

Hi Webber, I too would like to hear experiences with the WK2. The longer we wait the more we wonder about our decision. I caravan to remote areas with 'Jap 4X4' mates and cop a lot re the unrelaibilty angle of the Jeep. I hope to prove them wrong.
Any WK2 CRD experiences in this regard?

Well after 10 or 12 weeks so far I have no complaints with my MY13. I must admit it hasn't been off road much more than the odd graded, dry, dirt road. But on road it has been great. SWMBO likes it more than our Pathfinder we had previously.

We picked ours up in a bit of a rush since we needed a new vehicle fairly urgently, as a result we went with an un-optioned Laredo the dealer had coming off the boat, only added a tow bar and tinting.

Next time I'd probably go a Limited with QL for some extra clearance, but before then I might get this one lifted a couple of inches and hang onto it for a bit longer.

Stoked with the CRD, for both performance and economy.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

interesting to hear guys. I know last year when I first started telling people I had bought a Jeep (which I ultimately did not get due to dealer getting me wrong colour) almost all I told thought my decision was wrong. I was told by all (who knew anything about SUV's) that Jeeps were bad news. I am certain that the reputation of this current model is getting out and about because I am not being boo -hooed any more. Pajero and Land Cruiser owners thought one would have to be crazy to buy a Jeep but I have not heard those comments now for some time. I do think word is getting out about the performance of this model. Hopefully these cars will improve with resale value when its time to trade in.

Hi Webber, I too would like to hear experiences with the WK2.

I have had my MY12 for around 14 months now and am very happy with it. Fantastic combination of being a great on road cruiser and also suits our needs for off road and towing. We take ours down the beach and have had a few trips away to Barrington Tops, Grampians and around the central coast forestry tracks. It tows my 18ft boat with ease. The CRD has heaps of power, smooth and quiet and great fuel economy. And it looks great - like a life size Hotwheels. On the freeway you feel like you could just keep driving for days - just so relaxed as a cruiser - watch that speedo!

But it left me on the side of the road with a broken idler pully, the sand failure issue and recover hook has driven me bonkers...

But I've had plenty of problems with previous Holden and Ford work cars too.

Some of the switches are a bit dodgy - the headlight switch is a bit low rent and some of the other switch gear as well. But other things like the auto headlights, QL, auto wipers etc are great. And the torch! I dont really like the spare under the boot floor - I'd prefer it was mounted like a ute for easy access in the case of a flat.

But overall I'm very happy. Compared to say a Mitsu Challanger for around the same money, well, there is no comparison.

The best car I've owned? Well no. That would be my 1982 RX7...

I have ordered a 14 SRT.... so am not boohooing. However a monocoque offroader such as Pajero or GC will never have the long term strength that a full chassis like landcruiser has... not in the same class imho.
