I am having a guess that back in July you may have tested the MY 2013 series as the Laredo cameras were not available back then. I picked up mine in early July and it was in the first batch of MY 2014 that arrived in Perth. I had to wait until late November for the camera to be finally fitted. I agree that the camera set up in the 2013 Laredo is on par with the Limited/Overland but not so in the 2014 which have a different screen/hardware set up.

NOT 2013. It's 2014 model test drive in Sydney.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I always run my moose down, so I was never concerned.
Seems like the safer thing to do.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Thanks SNUKE....the car has held up well to the test. Another reason why it was preferable to have waited for this model, not that I am going to drive like that but you just never know when you find your self in a "near collision" scenario involving evasive action which could result in a roll over. It only has to happen once in your life time to make it more than worthwhile.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Anyone interested in getting some "I passed the Moose Test" stickers made up???

Seriously, we didn't hit the internet too hard before buying the Grand, as you can end up getting swayed by issues not really relevant or of concern. Plus it was an early July deal and first hand info was pretty thin prior to that. When I got into the forum and saw the Moose Test fail, I kinda laughed, but in a way was heavily disappointed because the two main criteria were fuel economy whilst towing and primary safety. My Prado is one of those "taller than wide" 4WDs which like to lay down for a belly scratch if not handled right... or in the ultimately unavoidable. So it wasn't a great vehicle for my partner to pilot.

So Moose jokes aside, I'm actually quite choofed with the significant improvement. Bring on the Moose, or roo, or cow, or goat... I'm gonna be a swerver not a striker*

Cheers,
Steve

I'd like to see a more in depth comparison for the Jeep off road compared to some real competition, like the LD4, and maybe the Prado and a touareg....?

I hear a number of people say the jeep doesn't keep up with the LD4 or prado off road, it would be interesting to see a test on this.
