Also the rubber they are made from seems to hold the dirt in them. Tried scrubbing them but they don't come clean.

On a different note this car rocks! Have spent the last 2 weeks in the NSW Snowy Mountains. River crossings, endless dirt tracks and towing my 2ton caravan and she hasn't missed a beat. So happy with this car.
Certainly very poor fit thats for sure

All,

Can anybody please enlighten me on the GCWR (Gross combination weight rating) for my MY14 JGC Laredo 4wd 3.0 CRD? I am unable to locate this information in the Operating Information handbook supplied.

6,449kg

Our Max Gross Vehicle Rating 2,949kg.

Trailer towing capacity 3500kg.

Tongue (towball) load limit up to 350kg.

I am taking this following section from the US manual, but I would imagine ours is the same

“VEHICLE LOADING
Certification Label
As required by National Highway Traffic Safety Administration
regulations, your vehicle has a certification label
affixed to the driver’s side door or pillar.
This label contains the month and year of manufacture,
Gross VehicleWeight Rating (GVWR), Gross AxleWeight
Rating (GAWR) front and rear, and Vehicle Identification
Number (VIN). A Month-Day-Hour (MDH) number is
included on this label and indicates the Month, Day and
Hour of manufacture. The bar code that appears on the
bottom of the label is your VIN.”

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

SPARE TYRES

There has been some earlier discussion on spare tyres, what will fit in in the spare tyre well etc and since I was fitting my mag spare earlier I thought I'd give an update.

I am on 18 inch mags with Michelin Latitude 265x60x18 tyres (standard tyres for Off Road Adventure Group). I decided it would be good to have a mag as a spare so having acquired some went to fit it in the hole earlier today.

Whilst the mag wheel and 265 tyre will fit in the well it won't with the outside down as per the standard steel spare (245x65x18). On the Laredo, at least, Jeep have conveniently moulded the bottom of the well to suit the contour of the outside of the steel wheel meaning the mag sits up too much if fitted that way, particularly at the back edge.

It does sit nicely when fitted with the outside up but this adds the complication of not being able to fit the bundle of the jack and wheel braces etc inside the tyre. This is not a problem for me as I carry a bottle jack which easily fits in the storage bins, but necessitates finding another way to carry the tyre changing gear.

The Kumho 245x65x18 spare won't cause much of an issue if you have to fit it anyhow as it contains a sticker which warns it is a temporary spare and limited to 120 kph or 75 mph, not an issue for this country with our paranoid speed limits. On many other vehicles the spare is limited to 80 kph.

I hate this tyre, and can’t wait to wear it out.
Causes wheel slip on a slight grassy incline.

How big a job was it to fit Peanut? Did you have to replace the wire back to the head unit?

Maybe put the reply under this thread
