Surely they don't pay this sort of money in New Zealand!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I drove the GC to work today instead of my co car, so the biggest drive I have had in it.
I noticed when i got in, that average fuel consumption for the 2,500km done already was 7.9lt.
I reset ODO B, while ODO A has never been reset, so contains full history.
ODO B told me I drove 92.6kms today, averaged 8.9lts.

ODO A average changed from 7,9lt to 8.6lt.

Considering I added 3.6% in kms, i am surprised I managed to have an 8.9% increase in the overall average usage when I was only 12.7% over the average.
If I am doing my math correctly, i should have had a .457% effect.

%%

just thought i would throw a couple more percentage symbols in there for fun.

You lost me , not real hard to do. I am guessing you did a lot less idling than the normal runs your GC gets.

My Pajero used to average consumption and never really gave me a 'whole of life' consumption figure. Perhaps that's whats happening here? %%%% ?
Cheers

Yeah and at 7.9l/100km you best stop bagging out the Michelin Latitudes... they're good for something!

Ciao,
Steve

Giving me the irits on grass.

The 7.9l/100km is mainly due to the misses driving it 95% of the time.

I was quite impressed I didn't damage the average even more.

I'll go on record that I reckon it's not all about the tyres... the 4WD system and high stall speed of the torque converter are your demons.

Of course significantly more voids in the tread pattern would assist!

Cheers,
Steve

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

It happens in all settings for the 4WD system

Also, I will go on record in saying I don't fully understand what a high stall is.
I just read a good article about it, but my brain is saying sleep, I don't need any of that info.
