I assume you have the ds 250. The relay is working well for me as far as I can tell... But no really big trips so far. I do however have a voltage monitor for the camper in the car.

HELP PLEASE!!

My GC does not have power inverter at the back under 2 USP ports. Based on the manual, it should have one. Is it normal?

Also, in Uconnect, Lock door with horn is checked, but there's no horn when locking door. Software 13.39.51. The dealer said it's known problem awaiting a fix from software update. Any one has the same problem?

Thank you in advance for any comments.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Are you referring to this?

"POWER INVERTER — IF EQUIPPED
There is a 115 Volt, 150 Watt inverter outlet located on the back of the center console to convert DC current to AC current. This outlet can power cellular phones, electron- ics and other low power devices requiring power up to 150 Watts. Certain high-end video games, such as Playstation3 and XBox360 will exceed this power limit, as will most power tools."

Did you overlook the part I highlighted in RED?
This is standard in the US/Canadian builds for all but Laredos.

This is its code "115V AUXILIARY POWER OUTLET (JKV)"

However this is not art of the Aus builds.
Have a look at that picture of the power inverter again, and your USB ports, you will see they are in the same location.

As for the horn on Door Lock, does not work, even though it was listed as a fix in the last Uconnect update.

This car is amazing it must generate it's own fuel.

If you start and let it idle, or don't do much the the range drops drastically.

Thanks Snuke. Greatly appreciate the clarifications.

BTW, I vaguely remembered that 'green colour diesel badge' appears on the rear was raised previously. I can confirm that the badge is affixed by dealers, NOT at factory as there was no badge when the car just arrived at the dealership but there's one when I picked up the car. I loved the auto high beam, blind spot warning and ACC, very responsive to traffics.

Doug & Hymer, whilst I have the D035 hitch, my hitch was up against the vertical plate which was a concern. I do have an outback camper trailer, so it naturally is taller than a standard trailer and caravan. My solution was to invert the hitch and whilst it no longer has a vertical plate to protect the vehicle and I need to be more careful when connecting, the Jeep has less lifting to accommodate the trailer which has ended up being a benefit. The trade off is the jockey wheel and sometimes I am at the maximum lift to disengage depending on the angle of the ground. Nothing that a plate hasn't fixed. This was my solution to the hitch rubbing on the vertical plate.

Tried rotating my ball on the hitch but that made the van too high at the front and not level. I noticed the mark on Bluey's hitch in the pic he posted. It only touches when on a tight angle but it still touches. It caught me out and wedged the hitch against the drawbar. I realised something was wrong when I was backing into a tight spot. If I hadn't stopped when I did something would have broke - hitch or drawbar.

Hi Snuke,

Question relating to Paddle Shifter:

1) Based on the manual, there's entry "enable paddle shifter" in Uconnect. Mine does not have it in the list. Is it a AUS spec thingie?

2) Speed at 70-80k down the mountain: I tapped paddle shifter (D/S drive display changed to gear display) minus, and when the gear reduced below 6, a continuous noisy came from underbody, which freaked me out. As soon as I reverted back to D/S, the noisy disappeared. The whole episode last a few seconds.

3) I tried speed at 20-30k on flat surface: tapped paddle shifter at gear 2-3, then pressed gas paddle, the car did not respond at all.

I did try paddle shifter on flat surface back in July when test drive at speed 60k+ without any problem.

Have you or anyone experience the similar issue? Thanks in advance for any insights.

Mmc

Same night time view as I get from mine. I too have the camera function in the uconnect display but it makes no difference to the functionality whether it is switched on or off. Btw I still haven't had a reply to my letter from Jeep Australia.
