Seeking some advice please... I picked up two friends from the Airport the other night, they sat in the back seat ( first rear seat passengers). After a few Km's they said the the seat was hot, I realised that the seat heating was on, but I didn't know how to turn it off, I pulled over and checked the Uconnect panel and couldn't find rear seat heating control.
After I arrived home I found two small push on / off switches on the lower rear centre consul, but there is no way to know what is on or off as there are no indicator light to show if the switch is on or off.
My question is... Are the other GC's the same ?

Gforce,

When it's on, the switch has indicator light (one for low, two for high)

Yep, same and mmcrh has explained the operation. Identical to our '07 GC - 1 push - low, 2 push - high, 3 push - off (with indicator lights showing).

Page 80 of your operating manual.

Hardware issue I would suspect. Where to stash it and would probably add additional weight. I would hate to be a vehicle designer. You would continually be thinking about 'trade-offs'.

Thanks Guys / Gals for the quick replies. My GC doesn't have any indicator lights showing, so I guess it's a wiring problem. In for the 10k service next week so I'll report the fault.
Thanks again.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Rear Heated Seats
On some models, the two outboard seats are equipped with heated seats. There are two heated seat switches that allow the rear passengers to operate the seats indepen- dently. The heated seat switches for each heater are located on the rear of the center console.

You can choose from HIGH, LOW or OFF heat settings. Amber indicator lights in each switch indicate the level of heat in use. Two indicator lights will illuminate for HIGH, one for LOW and none for OFF.
Press the switch once to select HIGH-level heating. Press the switch a second time to select LOW-level heating. Press the switch a third time to shut the heating elements OFF.
NOTE: Once a heat setting is selected, heat will be felt within two to five minutes.
When the HIGH-level setting is selected, the heater will provide a boosted heat level during the first four minutes of operation. Then, the heat output will drop to the normal HIGH-level. If the HIGH-level setting is selected, the system will automatically switch to LOW-level after

approximately 60 minutes of continuous operation. At that time, the number of illuminated LEDs changes from two to one, indicating the change. The LOW-level setting will turn OFF automatically after approximately 45 min- utes.

Oops - got 1 push/2 push for high and low around the wrong way. Damn memory. Sorry Gforce. I'm sure you would have figured it out anyway.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I am noticing I am getting a few marks on the door trims which don't seem to rub out, indicating the actual paint/coating is gone. Has anyone experienced the same, and does anyone know of any product which can be applied to rectify this?
It seems as though the paint / coating marks easily. Thanks,

Finally got around to have the N58 safety recall applied yesterday as well as an update of the radio software... now once you press the VR button it shows you on the screen how you should say things to get things to work. You would have expected some QA to ensure all items on that menu worked in australia.

Again my dealers servicing department surprised me.... after waiting 2 1/2 hours for the updates which they advised would take just over an hour, they asked whether I would like them to run the car thru the carwash.

They're not cheap... The best price I could get was $220 through Northern in Melbourne. The link below provides a description along with the part number. Note the difference in price in the US site. However you can't purchase from that site, nor any US dealer for that matter, as Jeep will only supply this part through dealers in RHD markets.

I have the same issue with my door trims. I too would be interested in any remedies.
