Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

hey webber I'm with you, I got my overland just after you and have not had any of the problems that you read in this forum. This is just one amazing vehicle to drive I just wish I had more time to do just that.

Thanks iboughtajeep.
I sort of got a bit boo hoo'd by some forum members when I criticised the Summit wheels but those rims were just yukkie. I mean, if they were a nice polished shiny chrome they would have looked good but dull pitted second hand looking rims just did not do it for such an upmarket car. Good to hear from you.

Nice to hear from you CRD Perth. Yep, just an amazing car. You need to keep pinching yourself as you drive it.....and I too do not get time to stack on the K's. Was talking to JosephR on the mobile yesterday (a hell of a nice guy). He has a Deep Cherry Red Overland and is obsessed with his Overland too.....and, as Joseph said, the colour combinations both external and internal are so limited with the Summit. Looks like, with hindsight the Overland was the correct choice. Pleased you too are enjoying your ride.

Echoing Webber and CRD Perth. No issues whatsoever with our April built Overland either. Can't speak highly enough of it and we are getting close to the 17,000km mark.

Maybe they took extra special care with the 'first off the rank Downunder' ones?

I wonder if those observations could in fact be an actual outcome in customers not embracing the Summit?????? SNUKE? I bet you're the kind of guy that will now post on this site the current Summit sales for Oz. I like putting pressure upon you 'cause I know you have the "IT" skills to find that info if available.
But it was a black one. Hey Webber enough about the black..I have a gorgeous black Overland and have just had 10000 km service and love all aspects of the car. A message came up on the screen to keep driving due to exhaust system regeneration so I complied with no complaints from me. I find myself glancing back at the car as I walk away with its beautiful metallic jewel like finish.

I had the tires replaced 2days after receiving my vehicle with Cooper Zeon LTZ and I am happy with them. Grip in wet is great but has slight road noise. I will be towing a 20ft off road caravan and will see how they go.

I assume they are slightly bigger than originals. Are there any issues with rubbing?

I have to agree totally. The Summit I saw was white and it did absolutely nothing for me and I have a white Overland that I drool over all the time! Mind you I drool over all the GC's as the go past.

With regards to problems with the GC, mine had a horrible shifting issue which seems to be getting better. It was intermittent with rough shifting, one day it would be fine and the next it was rough as guts. After the update, it seemed as though it wanted to keep behaving badly but all of a sudden it has come good. Why? Who knows???

Still have the sensor issue though, but that is only a minor annoyance now that the rough shifting seems to be fixed. The drivability of this truck is awesome now, I'm actually getting a lot of enjoyment out of it whereas I just got frustrated in the past.
