Hey Sick truck, can you remember what EVIC screen you were displaying when you got that message?
What speedo screen was displayed, analogue or digital?
If digital, was it the large numbered digital or small numbered digital with something below it, if so, what?

The reason i ask is maybe if analogue speedo is displayed you will get data showing inside the speedo when a regen is happening and the outside of the analogue speedo will change colour (someone posted a pic of it in this thread a while back) but i haven't heard or seen if anything like that appears with the digital speedo showing.

Maybe someone can confirm the workings if they know.

No, never tried the battery disconnect. It is currently working for an unknown reason so I'm going to stick by the saying 'if it ain't broke, don't try to fix it'.

Hi Zillajnr

Yes the first thing I noticed was red outer ring on analogue display with the message overriding the internal display at the time. I was driving into the city in peek hour traffic when it came on and had travelled about 5 km and was prepared to keep driving on freeway out of the city when the message disappeared.

Hi there,

I just got the message regeneration currently in process continue driving, I had the EVIC display set to the small digital speedometer. I didn't stop and continued driving for another 20 min until the message finally came up regeneration process now complete. Although I didn't stop driving at the traffic lights you can clearly smell the DPF filter burning off.

thank god it didn't put me into shut down mode like before as I am 200kms from home at the moment

SJandL, I don't think you will get the filter blockage problem because:-
1. you do a lot of K's, and
2. being in a rural type of area you are not doing the stop/start slow speed driving which appears to have been the cause of the problem with most......and you now what, I bet you are like Sick Truck (and me for that matter) where as you walk away from your car you, "glance back at the car". That's almost adulturess.

Gorgeous
Sorry Sick Truck, I do not mean to offend Black car lovers. A clean shiny black is beautiful it's just not me. I have previously mentioned how black often hides some of the beauty in the lines of the car, particuarly with black interiors. Black just doesn't do it to me......and, like you, I too "glance back as I walk away". I think we have a problem. Like perhaps "Sick". At least your signature somewhat is appropriate. Perhaps I should change mine to SICK WEBBER.

.....and what disappointed you. I thought our Overland rims far superior. Classy. Did you notice the Summit rims were dull and looked pitted and almost old? The black one I saw was aweful (sorry black lovers). Too dark inside and did not show off the folds and contours in the metal body. What's the point in paying extra for the headliner finish when you can't see it. I would have liked the extra chrome but I prefer the Overland that is painted to all panels whereas changing the colour to a dark colour across the lower panels/sills of the Overland is "not quite right". Can't quite put my finger on it but it just did not look as good as when I first saw it on the opening night when they launched the Summit in the US.

You may recall how many forum members sat up until after midnight glued to the internet for the American Launch. That car blew me away when they drove it out on to the showroom floor. I was so disappointed when I heard we would not get the Summit BUT, now that I have seen it in the flesh I am afraid I am kind of "so and so". I'm happy with my Overland.

But that doesn't stop me from trying Webber.

I keep changing the EVIC display from its usual setting of fuel economy thinking 'ok baby - today, give me the Regen message'.

To no avail of course. I have never seen it but I want to. **stamps foot** and yes, I still glance back at her. Best looking thing on the road.

Uconnect 13.51.1 available to download.
UConnect 8.4 International / Export

From here:
https://rsur.extra.chrysler.com/rsur/Uconnect.do

Not sure what changes this covers, no change log available yet.

I have installed it and there are no changes to any menu or settings options for me.

Still no VR for Sat Nav, other that "Go Home".

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Car had its first service on friday with 8600km on the clock. N58 recall completed, wiring harnass finally installed for tow bar and general service done.

They updated the uconnect to only 13.39.51 so ill have to go and update to the latest version myself which is no great issue.

Only other issues ive had with the car is the rear torch hasnt worked from day one so they are ordering a new one in for me - and my horn played up the other week. Turns out we filled it with water so they had to remove it, empty the water, blow dry it and then reinstall it. Works properly now, but they did try and charge $100 to do that. In the end they took the charge off. Apparently theyve never had that issue with water in the horn before so will see if it happens again, we had gone through alot of mud/water puddles off road that week so i guess thats when it happened.

Also had sensors go a bit haywire when i went through a puddle, the dpf warning came up saying to drive at highway speeds but it went into a limp mode. The more i kept driving the more it freed up, slowly allowing me to go up to 80kph but not over 3k in the revs. Ended up having to stop again 5 minutes later to pump up my tyres and once re started the car the warning was gone and it performed perfectly, so im thinking a sensor must have gotten clogged or something :S.

The last thing that has happened with it is the plug (cant think of what else to call it) that you twist to remove in the front wheel well that gives access in behind the headlights has come off at some stage, assuming when we were off road. Will have to see about getting a new one so water doesnt get up in there and into what i assume is the HID ballast.

Bit of a long rant, and it kind of sounds like a few issues but they have been minor ones that have not detracted from the car. Absolutely still love this thing and yes i turn and look at it as i walk away as well. Love it.

Dont hold back! -: unless your going to drive through water as it may fill up your horn! haha
