Also is the overlander worth the extra 7k ish. Personally I hate the non colour coded panels on the limited. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Yes I have the interior colours and love it. Makes it a bit classy and the white stitching really stands out. The exterior colour is Maximum Steel, so it does compliment each other. My advantage was there was no stock available when I made my order. The 3 month wait was the same for everyone, so I just ordered what I wanted knowing everyone else was in the same situation. I didn't have any other option if I wanted a 'MY14 vehicle.

I have all my windows, except windscreen tinted. There was a bit more work for the tinter, working with the compound curves of the rear glass. However, it turned out really well and has no effect on the demister. The demister only heats the glass a couple of degrees anyway, and the heat transfers through the film as if it weren't there

I can't see anyone wanting to buy one (pre MY11 that is) at any price.
The WH diesel still seems to be in demand, $20k-$30k depending on kms. Once they go over 100,000 they seem to drop off in price a bit. The petrols are about $10k less. I'm a bit worried about how many wk2s will flood the 2nd hand market in a few years, that might push their price down a bit. But the diesel motor is a weapon, might attract 2nd hand buyers if they stay reliable.

When you look at the used prices for the WK(2) the CRD are commanding a +$5k premium on the Hemi's.

I just sold my 2005 Prado diesel for 53% of the value I bought it for. At the time it was a very popular and extremely reliable vehicle. That's reflected in the resale values.

This thing (GC) is smashing sales at the moment, so there's no reason (bar major reliability problems, are you listening CJD Australia?) that it can't do the same as The Prado in a few years time.

Anyone who thinks that they'll get back the full difference between the base model and a more premium version at sale time is kidding themselves. The used car industry doesn't work that way. The more well appointed you go, the greater the loss at sale time. So, if you own an Overland, expect to only get a couple of grand more than a Laredo in 3-5 years time. For the used car buyer, all those extras are "nice to have's". Price point rules in used car sales.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

[QUOTE=SJandL;966662]Yes,
Gforce - some sort of silicon coating was what I was thinking of. I mentioned it to the husband who mumbled something about 'replacing the screws would be the best option' coupled with 'just wipe the rails down each time so moisture doesn't hang around'.

I have just finished replacing all the Roof Rail screws with marine grade
6 mm bolts and washers, used some urethane sealant under the heads
to effect a fully waterproof seal and also some blue Loctite on the threads.
Easy Job.

I agree. I actually think the Limited is going to be the orphan at resale time. Once the depreciation has kicked in, second hand buyers will pay the maybe 1 or 2 grand extra and get an Overland.

Ditto here, I bought a limited with Pano roof and the lux 2 ( lux 2 just happened to be on the one they could get quickly) . I tow but don't do much off road and it's awesome, depends on what you are buying it for ? To be honest I agree with Snuke it comes down to your wallet. Resale is anyone's guess with respect to the MY14s as they are so new and are a much better truck than previous models.

The dealer will always try and upsell , in my view the increase in luxury car tax makes the limited better value for money !
