I can honestly say that after 15000 km, I've never seen it. Maybe I'm having too much fun.

Me too, touch wood.
Perhaps those with the issues have faulty filters? If the dealers fix is just to give the car a thrashing that's piss poor. I'd be getting them to change the filter, but for them to do that pigs might fly.

Maybe dodgy sensors? I remember the diesel pathfinders had a problem with the sensors in their dpf that would result in high fuel consumption. The computer thought the filter was full and kept dumping fuel in there to burn it off.

Ditto.

Now, who was driving the MY14 Granite JGC that followed me this morning up the road until I turned into the driveway? (Odds are it wasn't anyone on JG though).

The route was maybe 1km and I spotted the DRL's from maybe 3/4's of the distance in the rear view and I slowed down to allow a catch-up.

Not me. But we are taking the gc on its first big trip with the camper trailer. Got from Brisbane to Taree today. Fuel usage was 9.8 which I consider pretty awesome. Was following the speed limit (according to gps) which is a bit of a mixed bag along that route fair bit of 80, 100 &110. Higher speed seems to hit the economy a fair bit die to the drag, as expected. What I was surprised about is that the hills did not effect it as much as I would have thought. Awesome car.

I logged 8.3 from Taree To Sydney, pretty much 112km/h on cruise control, pretty happy with that
I also just realized you were towing, that sounds pretty good to me!

Benno, Congrats. Hang in there. Each day feels like a week.

Unfortunately, this site 'tends to distort the problems with this car a bit. OK, us early buyers had Uconnect/aircon problems which updates appear to have remedied.
Of recent we have a Leaking inner front drive boot and rusting roof rail screws from SFORCE. A few complaining of limp mode due to faulty DPF filters which must be a pain - especially for ANSAMOIZ who has gone into limp mode twice and wants to sell out. Hopefully ansamoiz, if you can finally remedy your dpf curse you may change your mind. I'd be going crazy too. How inconvenient. O/K, poor old KevinP has experienced a cracked rear inside trim and some aircon problems and
rough gear shifting which is starting to come good. Rain3 has a car that is pulling badlhy to the right.

Overall though, I think we have a damn good car here so don't become disallusioned if your reading this site out there prior to making a purchase. I think we are causing unwarranted distortions in peoples minds. Enjoy this vehicle......of cause I say this as I madly touch wood, kiss wood, caress wood, etc etc. because it still makes me think, "when is my luck going to run out".

I'm expecting a few problems, but hopefully they will be minor. I would hate to be out in the middle of nowhere and get the dpf problem, but it seems to happen on short runs. Other than that the issues seem to be minor.

The way I look at it, this is a $90k car I'm getting for under $70k. I can live with some inconvenience for the discount, as long as it does get fixed. Most issues seem to eventually.

If I wasn't buying the jeep, what would I get? Not interested in the underpowered Prado or Pajero, so a Disco or a Touareg? I'd rather the Jeep with a few inconveniences.....

Eyes are wide open, but fingers are crossed....

So. Just about arrived at destination. Won't have any phone coverage there. Average 10.2 consumption.

Just decended the range from cooma to bega. Neither adaptive nor normal cruise would work, msg said due to brakes cooling. All good after about 5 minutes.

Hi BennO

Congratulations you will love it. I agree with Webber its a fabulous truck and the only thing I have had a problem with was the radio which died and was replaced now all is well. I don't have rust in roof rail which may be due to the controversial Couplertec electronic rust proofing only time will tell. See you on Moggil road.

Cheers Sick truck
