Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Thanks, I will probably go the couplertec too, haven't had one before, but I do a bit of beach driving, so worth a try.

Also going to fit rock sliders, pioneer platform roof rack, new rims and rubber, and I'll probably go with the Cheif recovery hooks and bash plate.... it's like waiting for christmas.

If you see a Red LTD GC on Moggil rd flashing lights in your rear view mirror after March 18th, you know who it is.

The electronic rust proof is extremely controversial on this thread but if there is a small chance that I will ovoid rust as a friend swears by it, it will be a plus. TJM supplied and fitted the unit and did a beautiful job. I have had a Nissan Patrol that succumbed to rust inside rear pillars and there is no way to clean in there. I suppose it was 25 years old so not bad

Unfortunately, this site 'tends to distort the problems with this car a bit. OK, us early buyers had Uconnect/aircon problems which updates appear to have remedied.
Of recent we have a Leaking inner front drive boot and rusting roof rail screws from SFORCE. A few complaining of limp mode due to faulty DPF filters which must be a pain - especially for ANSAMOIZ who has gone into limp mode twice and wants to sell out. Hopefully ansamoiz, if you can finally remedy your dpf curse you may change your mind. I'd be going crazy too. How inconvenient. O/K, poor old KevinP has experienced a cracked rear inside trim and some aircon problems and
rough gear shifting which is starting to come good. Rain3 has a car that is pulling badlhy to the right.

Overall though, I think we have a damn good car here so don't become disallusioned if your reading this site out there prior to making a purchase. I think we are causing unwarranted distortions in peoples minds. Enjoy this vehicle......of cause I say this as I madly touch wood, kiss wood, caress wood, etc etc. because it still makes me think, "when is my luck going to run out".
I agree. Webber you forgot the oil leak. The vehicle in a whole is good. The trouble is that it shouldn't take 3 attempts to fix an oil leak. The last attempt took 4 weeks, and all they did was replace the same seal they replaced in the second attempt. For this to be a truly great vehicle, the after sales service doesnt just need to improve, it needs a total overhaul. Parts are still taking way to long to arrive. Chrysler needs to start keeping more parts in AU, and the whole shipping via a boat? C'mon Chrysler, we have had planes for a number of decades now. It's called "Air freight"

Whatever...

More importantly, how do we get rid of Tom Waterhouse from this site. Petition Scott???

An interesting article on LCT which would make Ltd n overland less expensive.

Made an appointment with dealer for Monday morning to perform regen to fix DPF issue and to apply N58 fix as well. I was told that the car will have to be left with them for the day. When I went there this morning, they did not have any loan car available. I told them I am happy to wait there. I didn't want to go back to work (40 km) and come back by train. I was surprise when at 09:10 am I was told that the car is ready. It took them an hour and 10 minutes to perform regen and N58 fix.

It's not good. Your closer dealer will not deal with you 'cause you purchased the car elsewhere. I think that is poor and would not encourage you to buy a car off them in the future....but, then the guys that did sell you a car mess you around. (yeah like, we appreciate you buying the car off us). They tell you they need the car all day and do not offer a loan vehicle. At least by you deciding to sit around you may have "pricked" their conscience somewhat which at least stirred them up to prioritise your N58 fix and filter fix. Let's hope you have a good run from now on and can post some positive outcomes in the future. Whatever, you do, throw some distance highway driving at higher speeds into your mix. Maybe that's what has saved me 'cause being in a rural area nearly all my driving is highway speeds. (tough wood yet again).

That's good to hear.
Since getting mine back two weeks ago from its forced regen it has been fine except for two ocaissions where the traction control light came on (and power reduced) for no reason. Anyone else had this happen (dry road, no wheel spin, sedate city speeds)?

Went out to Wivenhoe on the weekend via Mt Nebo/Mt Glorious... awesome fun to drive and fuel usage dropped compared to city driving... normally ~14.7 around town, got down to almost 11 gunning it up great big hills instead! (V6 petrol figures)

Shame we won't be doing it any time soon, I had to back off a bit the last half as the missus was not far off a technicolour yawn!

" Your closer dealer will not deal with you 'cause you purchased the car elsewhere. "

What are the legalities in this scenario, surely we have the right to go to the nearest dealer for mechanical repairs ?
