Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Hi all. Has anyone heard anything at all about the MY15 - or is it too soon?

I don't know (?) - just throwing a thought around.
I thought mine (cruise control) was ok, but, if you set it at 80k's & then push set+ to take it to 100k,s it trips. Next time your out & about SJandL can you give it a try please.

I had a bit of a look around for info late last year, there wasn't much around, but there is this thread:

Changes for 2015?

Milous is in the know, so his posts are worth watching.

Here's the standout post:

Yes, same exterior. '14 was the mid-cycle refresh with major changes. '15 and '16 are the last 2 model years of the current generation and will have some tweaks and a few new features, but minimal changes overall.
Same sound system, foot operated tailgate.

Personally I wouldn’t do that. The only oil I would use if doing it myself is the Mobil 1, for the very reason that Shell gave you in that last line about only using theirs in out of warranty cars.
They know, that if something happens to your engine, their oil will not cover you for warranty.
If a dealer used it, it’s on them, if you use it, you’re liable and have created an easy out for any possible engine warranty.
I wouldn’t care if the Mobil 1 cost me $200 more every change, but for those first 6 changes I wouldn’t be using anything else.

Tested for you Kevin.

Pressed the ACC button (bottom left - not the Fixed Speed (middle), brought to 80kms, pressed Set + button, cruised a little, then pressed and held Set + again until 100kms reached. No tripping at all.

Just a note: We have never used the Fixed Speed (ESC) option. Is this what people are using? I have just read in the manual (page 99) the following:

In order to ensure proper operation, the Electronic Speed Control System has been designed to shut down if multiple Speed Control functions are operated at the same time.

Kevin did this deterioration occur after a recall or update application? Touch fake wood, my Grand is perfect and I don't want to upset it!

Cheers,
Steve

You sure about that?

I read elsewhere that they cant get the active stop to work on the SRT because of the Brembo brakes calibration?

After the first Uconnect update (which I did), can't remember what update it was. The local dealer did the latest (one they had) last week & it still trips. Thinking about it it maybe a safety cut out in case the button sticks. I will try it again tonight & ramp up to 90k,s & release to try and see if it will stay in cruise

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Well I have gone and done it. Ordered a new my14 Grand Cherokee Laredo with quadralift and adventure pack, the colour ordered is Cashmere Pearl. I thought I had done a pretty good deal until the dealer rang me with the delivery date.
Ordered on the 30/01/2014 delivery approx June 2014.
The dealer is not happy as he wants my trade in and has already offered me a Black Grand with same extras at a $1000 off no DEAL as it is a 2013 build and I don,t wont Black!!
Now I wait!!!!!!
