Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Well the old limp mode has struck again....The wife is not happy when she has to head of on the Broome road for 15 minutes and the DPF does not drop from 100% so has to turn around head home. May be able to get in in tomorrow for a burn and this time the engine light is on so the mechanic hopes this may shed so light on the problem. He has also now told me that it pays to drop it down a couple of gears and get the revs up over 2500rpm to help the burn go quicker. So waiting waiting waiting.

That's extremely annoying Peanut. Do you tend to do short runs with the car or do you think it's that there's something unusual which is causing the problem to occur?

Cheers,
Steve

Talked with a colleague who has land cruiser. Was told its engine braking, happens to his car too but shall not have noise. So called service advisor today. Was told that it's engine braking but shall not have noise. Bummer!

Bit off topic, but I rang my insurer (Youi) today to tell them the rego of my Grand Cherokee, and they gave me $50 refund on my policy. Didn't even ask them.
If only Jeep Australia had a clue about customer relations.

New technology, engines blamed for increase in vehicle problems
Analysing 2010 plated vehicles. I would hope they sorted out most of the problems by now lol.

2010 & 2011 GC are night and day.
It is still taking time for the rest of the Jeep range to catch up.

Our GC does this occasionally in Eco mode when slowing down to a relatively low speed then easing the throttle on. The transmission tends to hold the highest gear possible for the longest amount of time before shifting down in Eco.

It doesn't lug for long as it will shift down after around a second or so but you certainly know it's in too high of a gear as it sends a vibration through the car.

Found the opportunity to test whether ACC has stop-start feature. The result is that ACC did bring the car to a complete stop at traffic light, but a couple of seconds after stop, ACC deactivated by itself (EVIC display 'ACC may deactivate'), so there is no auto-start. I don't know whether ACC does not have auto-start (after stop) feature, or my car malfunctioned.

Does early built overland ACC bring a car to a complete stop? If it does, then later built overland has ACC stop/start feature could just be rumour. I checked jeep AUS site, no where it mentions ACC stop/start feature.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

ACC Start Stop did not exist on any GC prior to August builds. It was a hardware update, a Bosch control unit among other things.

Does it bring a car to a complete stop, then INCREASE SPEED as a car in front increase its speed?

SJandL: can u test urs, see whether it stops the car?

Tnx

The video clip is about cherokee, but I think GC would be the same.

I did press gas pedal, and press Resume button, ACC simply did not re-engage.

More functions, more issues, more worries. Bummer!

Will do more road tests before add it to issue log.
