I don't see the safety aspect if the car takes off from a stand still on its own. Are we becoming that lazy? I like the stop feature, but not the start.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

it will resume if the lead car resumes within X seconds (in the manual and I'm too damn lazy to look it up right now) Mine has it but the few times it stopped the vehicle it stayed stopped because the guy in front of me did. it them times out and deactivates IIC

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

ACC Operation at Stop
If the ACC system brings your vehicle to a standstill while following a target vehicle, if the target vehicle starts moving within 2 seconds of your vehicle coming to a standstill, your vehicle will resume motion without the need for any driver action.

If the target vehicle does not start moving within 2 seconds of your vehicle coming to a standstill, the ACC with Stop system will cancel and the brakes will ramp- out. Driver intervention will be required at this moment.

UNDERSTANDING THE FEATURES OF YOUR VEHICLE 203
While ACC with Stop is holding your vehicle at a standstill, if the driver seatbelt is unbuckled or the driver door is opened, the ACC with Stop system will cancel and the brakes will ramp-out. Driver intervention will be required at this moment.

SJandL: can u test urs, see whether it stops the car?
I can't test it MMCRH. My Overland is an April '13 build and does not have this feature.

I'll only get the chance to test it when we take delivery of the Cherokee mid-year or thereabouts.

Snuke and Chuck have explained it pretty well above though.

Hi All,

My Overland was manufactured in August and has the stop feature. Whew! As described it'll continue on if the lead car moves with a second or two.

I got the car the week before Christmas and it's been great with one annoying exception - the audio keeps cutting the balance to the left side for a few seconds. Almost like the behaviour when the nav lady talks but happens all the time, once or twice a song on all sources and even when stationary with the nav off and voice guidance disabled. Software update hasn't helped so now waiting for a chance to leave it with the dealer for a day for them to investigate.

Cheers,
Steve.

Hi Snuke,

It's 13.31.2. Not the latest but updated from the original with no fix. Do you think it's worth trying the most recent? I was resigned to letting the dealer check it over if it's electrical.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

That's quite old. One the fixes two Updates ago was supposed to fix it, and the latest definitely did for me. You will find several other fixes and an overall speedier unit once done.

Go here to download the latest 13.51.1 - https://rsur.extra.chrysler.com/rsur/Uconnect.do

And read the start of this thread to understand the procedure - UConnect 8.4 International / Export

It is very easy to do yourself. Once you have it on the USB, it takes about 15-20 mins to run the full procedure.

Another jeep! U r a jeep die hard.

Looks like 2 seconds is magic number. I'll do more rd test, and see whether press resume button will wake ACC up from stop.

Always space for another Jeep at this place and won't look at anything else.

'07 WK has never let us down. Total spent in the last few years (aside from oil and tyres) $74 on coolant after splitting the hose but husband just fixed that and she also had new front struts in the last 12 months.

'14 looks to be going the same way ie: no issues. Given that, the Cherokee is a no brainer for us. Not interested in looking at anything else.

My most favourite vehicle though (if I could have the legendary '10 vehicles in the garage') would be the Chrysler Crossfire. I don't care that it doesn't like corners.

Cool I'll give it a try tomorrow and see how it goes.
