I suppose they could just keep making everything the same? I reckon it's a bit better than OK... and actually think it could look totally hornbag with an ARB style bull bar, but with the outer hoops dropped a bit so they are under the headlights. Kinda halfway between a full bar and a Sahara bar...

Cheers,
Steve

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

It's growing on me, but the headlights just don't look right.... if they changed that it would be ok.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Well I love it, hence the mid-year purchase.

There is at least one in the country already, maybe more but definitely one (confirmed with a sit-in but not driven and not by me), but none are registered so you won't see it/them on the road.

Am still hoping for a June/July release though. No Aust brochures nor pricing available yet.

The Limited CRD is what we want (the pic posted above is the Trailhawk) - no details with regards to the diesel engine yet though.

We shall wait but it's a definite goer for us.

.... And it is not Ugly.

I like it too.

I saw more detailed photos and read some positive reviews on US sites. It grows on you. Jeep have purposely moved away from the previous model's "box" look.

I'm with you. I think this car will sell. It does grow on you. More to the point I think its non-conventional appearance is going to be a head turner.......and, I reckon you will like driving a car with that "pull" factor. Good luck to you, but only on the condition you don't abandon the JGC.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I think it's FUGLY at best.
However I have a friend who works in the Toledo factory where they are made. He was involved in some of the pre production test drives and said they do look much better in person, and the Trailhawk looks the best by far.

Abandon the Grand? No - never, ever. Love that thing.

I just need another vehicle to replace '07 WK. Getting too long in the tooth regardless of the fact that it just won't die. Just keeps on going and going.

With the Grand and the new Cherokee and '07 WK, it's going to be a bit like having Big Brother, Little Brother and that annoying ageing Uncle (that refuses to retire) around the place.

It's time to upgrade though and the MY14 Cherokee is my pick and husband has agreed (although he does toss a few things around just to annoy me - like today - just off the phone to the dealership with regards to the Cherokee and he says 'I think we should take a second look at the Audi. )

He's just annoying like that though.

Anyway, we should not turn this thread into a KL one. This is a WK2 thread but Benn0 got me going with his pic that he posted.

Snuke - It's not Ugly for the last time! You lot need glasses or more accurately, a sense of design.

I can see you in that. The grill lacks a few slots though.

The new Cherokee looks like someone put a Hannibal Lecter mask on a Nissan Juke.
