Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia
I think you will find the cars that arrived on 16th April, will most likely be used by management and as Press demonstrators. It is unlikely any of them will get to the dealers for new car sales, other than initial demonstrator vehicles. Remember, last year SRT's sat around for months, being used for press days, prior to being released to the dealers. As a matter of fact, those cars (MY12) were already superseded (MY13) before release.
As a ball park estimate, you can consider the following timelines
day 1. Car rolls off assembly
day 2-14. Car sits in Detroit yard
day 15-20. Car sits on Railcar and gets shipped to Baltimore
day 21-25. Car sits on wharf awaiting ship
day 26-58. Car reaches port in Aust
day 59-69. Car sits with Prixcars
Day 70-73. Cars gets to dealers.
Day 75. Delivery.
The above estimates are based on a smooth transport and no hitches/delays.
