Remove the EGR Valve – Bad for Your Diesel Engine?
Apparently it will trip the system into limp mode if removed.

I have read a couple of things that suggest while still flawed, SCR is better to have than EGR.

SCR or EGR? | There's a lot to like and a lot to dislike about both EGR and SCR technologies | Jul 2008 | Fleet Management content from Fleet Owner

AGCO | EGR vs. SCR

No, and even using ones built into music players can achieve only so much.
The old saying, "the basic fact is no matter what you do to a turd - polish it, paint it, give it bling - it's still a turd".

US JGC uses DEF Does it have EGR in conjunction with DEF? AUS does not have DEF, that's why it has EGR instead to comply with local emission regulation?

So even though I say ignore what I say and only your ears count, the system sounds like utter crap, and no one with a half decent sound system with a good sub that is calibrated and positioned correctly would say any different. The sub is boomy loose overbearing nasty nasty nasty. The thing is these things can sometimes be fixed. The sub I have at home was shaking the walls to death and overbearing as all hell even when calibrated correctly with a sound metre. Thankfully this brand (Paradigm) offer a calibration kit called Perfect Bass Kit. It is a microphone and software that takes measurement throughout your listening space. Takes measurements, plots the ideal response and makes alterations to the EQ to get it back in line. Here is a graph, the Red is the boomy peaky nastyness similar to what we get in our Jeeps. The Blue is what you want, and the Purple is what I ended up with. If this type of thing was offered in our cars it would be awesome. But I am dreaming. It was night and day, no more uncontrolled crap, now nice and tight.
Once again Snuke you are so spot on, the sound system reads well in the ads, but fails to deliver. I must admit to being disappointed when I first heard the quality of the sound, my expectations were high and it was a bit of a shock to find that my 11 yr old 4 speaker Nissan Patrol sounded better. I am at a loss as to why Chrysler Jeep got it so wrong.
From my current point of view the sound didn't live up to the 'hype', but I can live with it.

All car sound systems sound crap. You can only make them less crap. So the very best are really just the least crap. It is a horrible area to produce sound, too many large areas of glass in a small space.
The no name system in my base model Falcon sounds better. I think that is simply because it isn't trying to do anything special. Alpine should not have put their name on this mess in the Jerp.

Snuke, can you post a pic of your graphic equalizer showing your settings. I'm willing to try anything.

Here’s one I prepared earlier.
Surround sound OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Firstly, I am no audio expert, I just have my personal experience from buying and calibrating my home system.
This is the least shit setting I could find for my mix of music. I did play with the fader, but preferred in central.
As stated earlier, they’re your ears, trust them, ignore what others like. I like my bass controlled and tight, some like it to be very present.
The mids are crap, there is simply no help there, they get overwhelmed by the bass. I may have the dropped the bass to -3 now, I can’t remember. A system will break in over time.

typing with fat fingers on a little keypad on my phone
When i ordered my new jeep back in mid 2012
I was told Jeep australia was building up parts supply and had built a new super warehouse for parts supply and guarantee of supply
Now that was almost 2 years ago and to date parts supply has been an issue
So i for one don't trust anything JA has to say.
