Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Mozzie - this is what the Overland camera looks like. This is ours (prior to plates being attached as you can see), but the camera is included in the moulded trim that extends the entire length of the tailgate. It is integrated in otherwords and I think the MY12 and MY13's have this exact trim if I understand correctly.

This is what MY14 Laredo owners are expecting of the rear-camera.

Are we simply being swayed towards higher standards due to the quality of the rest of the vehicle. There HAS to be sacrifices to supply a vehicle as fully loaded as this for the base price of a toyota.

Sorry in advance
Chris.
I am a little surprised that your reversing camera is not perfect on your Limited as mine is, crystal clear in the Daytime (I can see into the neighbours garage across the road) and great at Night, 100 percent happy with it. May be worth having yours checked out at the next service?

GMWK2, you can insist all you like mate, but that aint gonna change anything with this bunch of insular morons. Jeep Aust management have their heads stuck up where the sun dont shine a long ways.
Exactly my point. If insisting does not work when ordering, when you would think they are trying to close a deal, insisting after the fact will never work with JA and their useless dealers. JA have a track record of ignoring owners once they have your money.

So off to the tribunal you will need to go....

Once bitten, a replacement car for my MY12 is currently in abeyance. At the moment I'm going to wait for the MY15, and if I can get assurances about the specifications, maybe Jeep will get my money. But otherwise I'll wait for the Ford Everest.

And the camera on my MY12 Laredo looks like the photo posted by SJandL.

I think I will have to stop reading jeep forums as every issue bar 1 (the sand mode...low range issue) I have experienced. This morning for example, on my way to work the DPF nearing full warning started...couldn't continue at highway speeds as no highway in close proximity then shortly there after limp mode. Funny thing is my one and only successful regen happened about 200kms ago...now have 14000kms or so on the clock. BUT I still love my Jeep.

That's interesting info, so you had the full dpf issue even though it had previously done a regen? It will be interesting to see if the workshop manual regen does much to fix it, or if they have to do something else like replace a sensor?

What was your build date?

Benn0 I thought it interesting that I did 11000kms with a successful regen and now do 300 to 400kms with an unsuccessful regen. Some of those kms were also on the m1 to brisbane and back. Build was april 2013.

Hi Benn0
Very interesting given the one and only successful regen happened at about 12000km and this happens now (about 14000kms) with the last few hundred kms being done on the M1 to brisbane and back. April 2013 build.

ok, is that a MY14?

Maybe there has been a sensor failure. So it's in the shop now? Interested to hear what they say.
