Ok, I'm updating this in the DPF thread. Looks like another one was an April build too....

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I have a MY14 done nearly 9000kms no problems at all, no limping, no DPF warnings. Sept build.
My friend also has a MY14 done 6000kms, no problems at all, no limping, no DPF warnings. (June/July build). Strangely he only drives to work and back, about 20kms each way and only hits 80km zone for about a km or so.

I'd better cross my fingers now that I haven't opened the box and let the gremlins out.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

There appears no rhyme nor reason to it. Except so far the build dates with the problem appear to be April-July 2013. Maybe there was a faulty sensor or some problem with the batch of dpfs back then?

There appears to be no easy pattern emerging is there.

18,250kms, coming up to the 20,000k service on our Overland now and she is sweet still. When I read about Dreamer's drama today I thought uh-oh because ours is an April build also but she really is faultless.

I checked the oil life today also (being that close to the 20,000 km service) and she is showing 63% still which is good.

Dont the vin numbers run one after the other. Perhaps also ask ppl for there last few digits? Might narrow down the cars on the line.

typing with fat fingers on a little keypad on my phone

I might have a wonky tailgate, a rear latch handle that pokes out a bit, a reversing camera (nothing more to add about that) and now the occasional limp mode.... But gee I still love my Jeep!!!

Are the vin numbers run in sequential order or are they randomly produced????

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I don't think the Vins do run sequentially. I dunno - I read somewhere where Milous posted where he said that they don't (but I stand to be corrected).

I do know that (and I can't check it now because husband has taken it off to a meeting and won't be back until after 10pm) but when I was cleaning it yesterday, after his trip away (yes - read that - I was cleaning it - it took me 3 hours - what do you men do on a trip away? Seriously - it smelt like old unwashed men in the cabin - anyway, I digress) - the build sticker, when I was cleaning the inside door panel had an 04 07 date (I think it was 7 but I would have to check tomorrow morning) which means perhaps it was built on the 7th of April.

That's an early April build if I am interpreting it correctly.

Correct interpretation. Build on April 7th. I got the advice from jeep technician
