So it has driven nearly 20,000kms soley in ECO. Would this make a difference do you think? Just a random thought though and throwing in a variable.
Same here. Eco mode only and just coming up to 7000k with Average Kilometres reading 7.7/100ltr. Still heaps of power/get up and go for this old codger.

My old Hilux would probably keep rolling out the other side of the damn, tough old bastard that thing was.
We think the foot brake sucks hard, this thing had a hand brake that you pulled out towards you from the dash and twisted. Oh the fun I had starting on a steep section of Toorak and Taronga Road. People honking at me as I was trying to find that sweet release point and engaging the clutch.

I would have kept it in eco except for a stupid design decision by jeep. Why forcibly link suspension performance to engine performance? I like to run in sports mode for the aero height and better handling at low speeds but they explicitly rule out eco mode. One of my biggest gripes with the car because I can't see why they had to do it.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Went in for the 1000km checkup of a new 2014 Grand Cherokee Limited yesterday. Overall very happy with the car but running into a few odd issues

- ESC warning light would sometimes come on in the dashboard for a trip and stay on during the entire trip. Unfortunately this is not always reproducible and the technicians couldn't reproduce it or find a fault code. Was recommended to drive to them when it comes on next.

- Cruise control not always getting set and would sometimes turn off after pressing SET. At first they couldn't reproduce it but could a second time. They recommend getting the cruise control switch to be replaced and is ordering the part.

- Reverse camera not always showing guide lines. They couldn't reproduce this and couldn't do anything about it.

Hopefully some of these issues stick around next time so can actually get it fixed.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Good to hear there are no major issues with your ride Longzheng.
In regards to the ESC problem, are you putting it in sports mode ? The light will always be on in Sports.
The CC problem is a well known issue, hopefully they will have a fix soon
The reverse camera problem has been mentioned. I suggest you snap a picture on your mobile when it happens, so you can show the dealer. As yours is a limited, it has the factory camera.

Ah thanks for the heads up about the ESC and Sports mode. As far as I know, in the instances where ESC light came on Sports mode wasn't on, but it could have been accidentally activated. Will keep an eye out in the future.

Just checked my brake lines - they are tight enough to be straight, but can be easily moved up and down by a centimetre or so and no sign of kinking.

Just get someone to lock you inside and open the door, probably only work for the rear doors that don't have auto unlock.

Panic alarm.. I don't see the point? Perhaps us Aussies are too laid back so they thought we wouldn't need it.
The missus wasn't feeling well on NYE, went for a lie down in the Jeep..... got a hell of an awakening about 2 minutes later as the alarm went off!! Heard it from the friends back yard She didn't touch any doors, could be a weight sensor in the back seat?
