Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Milous, those 600 in the cue....could you give us a breakdown of the makes and when likely to be built. Would you agree there is still a chance those 600 could make it to Aussie dealers by July? You would have to guess that those 600 could well be for orders already in the system and could be the cars that dealers have been telling us will be here in July?

Am I the only person very suspicious of Jeep Australia not supplying E numbers? Restricting our info so they can stockpile vehicles while they sell 2013 stock??

Or am I just paranoid and impatient??

your probably bang on.. we are mostly being kept in the dark.. has already driven one member here to another brand and also other considering.
the worry is that they are entering into prestige market with the top end GC put still treat the customer like they are buying a Great Wall crapper

Hmm. Has me thinking I will cancel my order and wait for floor stock. When able to touch the car I can negotiate with the dealer. Right now we are paying rrp with no wiggle room. That would be ok if we get our cars quickly but if they are going to limit and delay supply then I don't feel like playing their game

As other members have said, a Mercedes or BMW is not much more and we get treated like valued customers.

Feeling frustrated.

See post #1007 above, info added. No ETA on build dates but AU RHD production is in progress so builds will be constantly flowing.

The first shipments (now enroute) will arrive to AU ports the week of May 20th. additional shipments will be arriving continuously from that point forward. Within days a total of over 600 will be on their way to AU, I would expect by sometime in July there will have been thousands delivered. A lot will depend on when they release the CRDs, as those will me making up the largest percentage of builds.

Well over 2000 E numbers have been issued, mostly dealer orders but I did noticed at least 70 were for customers (marked as "sold"). Dealers are probably not anxious to assign/commit E numbers to customers until they have a better idea of the amount of inventory that they will be getting and when they will be getting the vehicles.

Is that 2000 numbers just for Australia? Wow. I must be underestimating the market here

So 2000 vehicles are destined for Aus in the next 6 months approximately. I would think that should mean a good supply available once initial arrivals start being delivered. All depends on how the distributor feels about the customers

I will ring my dealer tomorrow and demand ( as far as I can ) an E number.

Milous, now that there are AU spec overland already built, is it possible to have you confirm the build spec. Is it a cross between the US overland and summit?

So far, no evidence of Summit features on Overland.
