$164 for an oil filter? Really? I'd ring up spare parts and ask them how much for an oil filter. Should be about $55.

I think you need to ID the dealer charging $164.00 for oil filter thats a huge rip off i would take it to the dealer principle and to office fair trading.
I have been charged $61.00 for the diesel oil filter to date and i still think - NO - i know thats still a rip off price

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I heard that Jeep Australia is changing it's name to Jeep Circus, and it is going to be managed by Clowns.

Oh. Hang on.... that would be NO CHANGE

Hi Rain

Could you let us know which camera you purchased? Does it fit in the existing mount? I presume the wiring is straight forward and plug into the existing connectors?

Cheers

That is my theory, all I see are grey or silver SUVs in the local shopping car park.
I always thought the main reason people choose lighter colours like white and grey is becauae they are easier to keep looking clean.

The biggest impediment to us poor suffering Jeep owners to ever getting meaningful, quailty service from either CJA or the dealers is the success of these vehicles.

Sales keep going up, so how can they be doing anything wrong??

I've currently got a black cruiser, any colour is going to be easier to keep clean. Anyway, they are suppose to look dirty!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

G'day All,

Just to slightly change the topic, has anyone noticed that you can shift from reverse to park without pressing the brake or shift button. I got a shock of my life when I was reversing and had my hand on the shifter, it actually slide into park with slight forward pressure. Shouldn't this be gated like going from neutral to reverse is? Or is this normal behaviour? I have tried it couple of times and it still goes into park without brake and shift button, park brake was off too.

If you are not experiencing this let me know, I might have to make a trip to the service department. This cannot be normal because it can damage the spigot inside the transmission while the vehicle is in motion. I know you will all say I am supposed to stop the vehicle before even shifting to park. But my point is I discovered this accidently. As far as I am concerned this function should be gated.

Does anyone know anything about it? Meanwhile I am looking through the forums to find something

Regards
Ameet.

Yes I have noticed. You can also shift from drive into reverse without using the shift button.
I was playing around in a paddock a few weeks ago and thought to myself, wow! Jeep gave us this feature free!

Probably logs a code which Jeep will use to void your drivetrain warranty

Man someone is going to hurt something expensive with that feature if they bump it on a hard surface with a bit of momentum!

Cheers,
Steve
