Take it back to the dealer and tell them to F**ken reset it.
Yes it makes no difference but that is not the point..
This should be done as part of the service and it pisses me off that you pay top dollar for a dealer service and they don't even do the simple stuff.

I had my 10000 km service done last week and the also did not reset the oil life meter. They also did not rotate the tyres and they also did not stamp the service book.
Took the jeep back the next day and made them do the job correctly, then I spoke to the dealer principle and he told me my next service will be free and will be done correctly.

Cheers.

Yep, I'd be asking them what else did they forget....

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

You can rest the oil meter yourself if you like.
But you shouldn't have to.

I watched the service tech do this to mine when I took it back.

Reset Oil: Vehicles with diesel engines (export models):

1. Cycle the ignition to the "ON/RUN" position (Do not start the engine).
2. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it fully depressed for at least 30 seconds.
3. Press and release the brake pedal six times while holding the accelerator pedal pressed.
4. Perform one ignition OFF-ON cycle, start the engine and verify that the reminder has been reset

If still warning oil change due then repeat.

Just got quoted $520 for the 10k service at Ozzy Park WA. Raised the oil spec when the cost of $26 per litre was used as justification. Apparently they're using Castrol Magnatec fully synthetic... and it ain't no dealer special blend either. So it doesn't meet the listed spec!

Shit I used to just drop my car in, have a social chat and pick it up later done right . Now it seems I need to pay extra, supply my own shit and micromanage the operation.

Scary stuff.

Were you talking to the Service Manager or just reception?

Mine was $350, they used Shell Helix.

They went to update the Uconnect but said it would take 4 hours to do. Told them to leave it, I'll do it myself.

How can you do it???

Jeep Garage I replied.

Resetting the oil meter DOES make a difference. This is part of the calculation done for DPF regens.

Where at oh Skidmaster? I'm guessing East where there is proper competition?

Swampy I was talking to the Service Advisor. Interestingly I can't find a Magnatec 5W30, only Edge.

Wanneroo Jeep quoted ten bucks less and claim to use Mobil1, which still appears to be the only oil with all the right numbers on it.

My first 2 services used Shell - BUT - since the base formula for Sheli Helix Ultra Extra 5W30 was changed in 2012 it doesn't meet the specification either.
I have email confirmation from Shell Tech Services Melbourne on this.

And I agree with Barboots - as far as I can find out - Mobil 1 Formula ESP 5W30 is the only oil available to us out here that carries MS11106.
I've used this for the last 3 and supplied my own oil for all 5 changes to date.

Webber - that's great that all is working for you now.

With regards to this:

You can say 'Change Media Source to SD Card/iPod/Bluetooth/USB/Disc' and it will change to your preferred source of music.

I'm wondering how much scientific compatibility there is behind these approval numbers, and how much is money changing hands for permission to quote them!

It's still hard to comprehend that the dealers are using oil which doesn't meet the brand's own specification. John Hughes are using Castrol Edge as per Ozzy Park... Wanneroo use Mobil1.

I might go lie down for a bit.

Cheers,
Steve
