Just read your message again Foglamp.
I do not wish to name the dealership as the salesperson told me that it is Jeep Australia policy not to give customers VON/VIN/E numbers.

As I have posted that I have a VON number, naming the dealership may cause problems. I would like to have a relationship with my dealership of mutual trust and respect should I need their services to correct 'latent defects' and other warranty issues down the track....

Yep, out of all the JGC configurations, that (yours) is top of my list for the moment. I used to have beige interior in my WJ Limited and loved it.

Congratulations Graham

An Australian Motoring magazine currently has a JGC Summit (white) in their garage that they're doing a long term test on. So far after 3 weeks there has been no dramas, and it's getting very good comments. I think that they'll keep the car for a couple months.

PS: According to the same magazine the Jeep Grand Cherokee has just jumped from #14 to #10 in the (Australian) best selling car list. Can't remember if that list is monthly or year to date.

The dealers that use Castrol use OEX Professional 5W-30 that is not available for retail, however a web search will find a data sheet and it does meet C3.
My understanding is that the oil that the dealers use does not have to meet MS 11106, but the oil needs to be approved for use by Jeep HQ. for those of us that change our own oil, I prefer to have that spec met so there is no "wriggle room" in regard to warranty.

I'm not in the brisbane jeep club. If you like doing some offroad trips with a group it might be worth joining.

I was thinking of arranging a jeepgarage meet up somewhere this year, maybe a run up teewah beach or something....

White Overland with red leather, maybe with white stitching ...

I'm liking it. That would certainly be unique.

I wonder how much $$$ for a local change to replace the factory leather?

This is growing on me dammit! Stop suggesting good ideas Snuke!

By what I can tell she is the only Overland, however a guy who works at the same place as me has an Overland arriving within a week. Looking at possibly taking Baa Baaa on a trip in early July, not sure where to yet. Also looking in to getting the ECB bullbar, I find it better looking than the ARB, don't care at all what ARB have done with the ACC sensor. I would really prefer not to get one at all, however I do work shift on occasions and after driving for 30+ yrs I know my luck with missing roos will most likely run out one day. Especially since I give the Yanks here so much crap who leave after a couple of years and are proud they only have hit one or two of them. Murphy is bound to catch up with me one day.
Hi Auscop

We are getting the ECB bullbar and a winch fitted to our Overland now. Will post a photo if you want

Not yet, the unlimited section is only the first 200kms north of town, as a test case. I work south of town and even if they do open it up for the whole Territory the road to work will be limited to 110 as Yanks don't know how to drive at speed on the left side. what was interesting is within 2 days of opening the speed limit we started to see test cars reappear in Alice with black plastic or tape covering them as a disguise, it is great to see them back.

Had the same issue with Baa Baaa, so I went back to them to get them to reset it. After 1/2 hour they gave up and said they would get back to me.. Never did... Ended up learning to rest it myself, however I noticed the other day even though I got it to go back to 100% life it shows it is 60000 odd KMs since it was rest. I thought when I first got the car at 100% the bar was green! this time it was grey.

Thanks Buster01, greatly appreciated. Not sure if I trust anyone in Alice to install it. May have to go on a road trip and get one installed then.
