Interesting, as that is the non export method.

Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 - Oil Change Indicator System

B. Vehicles with push-button start:

1. Without pressing the brake pedal, press the ENGINE START/STOP button and cycle the ignition to the ON/ RUN position (Do not start the engine).
2. Slowly depress the accelerator to the floor and release it three times within 10 seconds.
3. Without pressing the brake pedal, press the ENGINE START/STOP button once to return the ignition to the OFF/LOCK position.

C. Vehicles with diesel engines (export models):

1. Cycle the ignition to the "ON/RUN" position (Do not start the engine).
2. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it fully depressed for at least 30 seconds.
3. Press and release the brake pedal six times while holding the accelerator pedal pressed.
4. Perform one ignition OFF-ON cycle, start the engine and verify that the reminder has been reset.

Or is this normal behaviour? I have tried it couple of times and it still goes into park without brake and shift button, park brake was off too.

If you are not experiencing this let me know, I might have to make a trip to the service department. This cannot be normal because it can damage the spigot inside the transmission while the vehicle is in motion. I know you will all say I am supposed to stop the vehicle before even shifting to park. But my point is I discovered this accidently. As far as I am concerned this function should be gated.

Does anyone know anything about it? Meanwhile I am looking through the forums to find something

Regards
Ameet.
Checked mine today (Limited) and it is the same, but when in Drive and moving you can only push it to Neutral and there is a warning chime. Personally I don't have a problem with the way the gear selector works, now that I am used to it I've grown to like the way it works.

The Evoque is nice on the eyes, but they are far worse for reliability and every day use. The roof looks low, because it is. I am 6'5" and could not sit in the back seat unless I wanted to compress my spine a few inches.
Oh and they cost what an overland costs, so I know what I would rather have.

It's a range rover sport.

My brother is driving an evoque at the moment and I got a ride last weekend. You are right - it's tiny compared to the disco he normally drives. Felt underpowered. A lot of the controls seem over designed - design for designs sake - but as a result they are fiddley and not intuitive. Stupid gear selector knob. Massive blind spots to the rear. No reverse camera - that's extra.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I'm a little bit worried about the new Grand Cherokee 3L Diesel we took delivery of about a month ago. It's had 1500km on the clock but is now exhibiting a few new issues.

We used to see the ESC warning indicator come on for some trips. Someone on this forum told me that it's always on for sports mode but this was just in normal drive mode. We brought this up with the service center and they couldn't reproduce it while we were there.

Other times we also see the parking lines disappearing from the camera.

Now most recently the car would also shake quite noticeably after ignition for a few seconds. It used to be very smooth.

To me this reminds me of the Grand Cherokee recall last year but I specifically asked the dealer if the recall update has been applied and they said it has. We also took delivery in Feb 2014 so surely it would have been applied at the factory as well.

It's unfortunate these problems aren't always reproducible at the dealership.

Anyone have any thoughts about these?

But they do fit them if you pay for it right? Just like all Laredo buyers.

Which model? ESC is only on when it's activated by road condition or malfunction

I wonder if this is the rough idle from cold start issue some others have been seeing? Is the engine clattering away when it happens? Is it when started from cold? Perhaps this is why you couldn't reproduce it at the garage....

Limited 3.0 Diesel. It must be malfunction because this light would activate even when the car starts in garage.
