Josh, here are my figures for sunroof in MY14 Grand Cherokee Laredo CRD.
Single sunroof cost me $1,818 fitted. This a genuine factory option,

Leather seats (front and rear) cost me $2,000. The Laredo comes to Australia with cloth seats.
Here in Melbourne the vehicle is taken out to an upholsterer near Caroline Springs and genuine (Chrysler/Mopar) leather trim is fitted there. Takes about 2 days.

Sunroof is great and the leather seats are better than cloth seats.IMHO.
As far as the outside appearance goes, as Webber said, you can trick up your base Lared to look like the LTD and Overland for very little cost.

QuadraLift was $ 2,273 extra as well.

You lose out on the upgraded electronics/radio, camera and sensors but wherever a LTD or Overland can go, so then can a Laredo as well. See the same sights for less money.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Thanks hymer,

They look like they did a great job with the leather

As for resale value Webber the car will be on a lease for 3-4 years so I'm not fussed on resale to much any car will depreciate quickly

Has anyone painted up the grey plastic bit on the Laredo ?

I've been trolling reviews for the passed couple of weeks on the wk2's and bit the bullet and test drove the CRD Laredo on Friday and instantly loved it

Now just need to get my current lease Close on the XR6T and get rid of it

Guys, I have a question about front and rear parking sensor audio alert chime (Ltd,Overland) Thanks in advance for shedding the light.

Does yours beep at 4th (the furthest) arc? Mine does not beep (Parking sensor audio check box ticked) and the dealer claimed that it's normal, yet the owner manual says that it should beep. Confused.

Now it's easy for me to talk because I am in a postion to afford an Overland. I do encourage you to do your homework carefully though because adding extra's is a disproportionate added cost and they will carry a lesser resale value than moving to the next model be it a Limited or an Overland. The easiest example are Laredo owners who have been mislead over the reversing camera. They have purchased it as an optional extra and they have been real shockers as you have no doubt read....a total waste of money virtually not working like they should.

The base model, ie Laredo is an excellent buy because unless you are a Jeep enthusiast most motorists would not know whether you are driving a Laredo, Limited or Overland so you get all the prestige without the cost.

Now having said that, the best thing I have ever done with buying cars was moving to the Overland. I will never buy a vehicle with a lesser standard than this car again, whether it be an MY17 Overland or a Benz or Beamer in a few years. Once experiencing luxury, air suspension, AUTO headlights, Active Cruise Control, the Uconnect system and the list goes on with the Overland...there is no going back.

However, if you are younger still setting out in life there are greater priorities than a car. A well known financial adviser recently stated in the Herald Sun that you should never pay above half your age (in dollars) for a car. I would probably have fitted into that scenario for the first 4 decades of driving but now I think....STUFF THAT, it's time to be impractical and enjoy this wonderful engineering.
If your young, it should also be added that you need to take into consideration resale value. When it's time to sell, no I matter what extras you have put on your Laredo, it is still a Laredo.

This is why I went Limited instead of Laredo plus leather plus ....
I know I would get very little to nothing back for the extras I put into the Laredo vs what is standard on the Limited.

Side note, speed cameras certainly don't show on the sat nav. Pretty sure I have a fine coming my way out of sheer stupidity today. I knew it was there, although I thought it was a couple of hundred metres later and was waiting for the gearbox to drop down a gear and retard our speed. Idiot.

Nice Very nice

Boy in Queensland are we ripped off both in the Price of Fuel and now it appears vehicles

I purchased a new MY13 GC Limited in 2012 the option costs then were much dear than you have quoted now. (More power to you)
Quadralift was $3,000 Plus offroad adventure pack of $2,000
I choose the Limited mostly because of the leather seats but was very disappointed on arrival.
Mate purchased from a different Qld dealer a Laredo and took up the leather seat option fitted in Caboolture i believe. The cost was $3,000 he told me but his leather is a much better quality of leather than the limited thats for sure .

Why is there so much variance in these prices.

Think i will drive to melbourne for my next purchase

Had a hand held speed gun on me in about Sept last year, was doing about 12 KMs over the limit and was not pulled over... I think the day time running lights had hypnotised him.

Yikes!

I paid $2272.73 for Quadralift and $1363.64 for ORAII.

Same here webber , and it was my 'ol WJ Limited that started it all for me.

I've considered a BMWX5, but the cost to option it up to Jeep Overland specs is expensive. The Jeep Overland & Summit models are the best "bang for your buck" on the Aussie luxury SUV market at the moment.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I've got no idea what the ORAII and QL cost for my car. It wasn't itemised, I just got the best price I could for the package I wanted.

The list prices are/were:
Dual Pane Panoramic Sunroof $3250.00
Quadra-Lift Air Suspension $3250.00
Off Road adventure $1950.00

You can negotiate the price down on the base car, and pay full price on the options, or you can pay full price on the car and negotiate down the options, or somewhere in between.... I'd be telling the dealers what I want, and keep asking until they offer it at a price I like.

edit: Seems to 2 main reasons you wouldn't buy the laredo is the reversing camera issues and the lack of satnav.
