Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Taken form another forum

“:I worked for Nissan for a few years as an Assistant Service Manager

DD covers things like "Full detail" & "Mechanical check". Mech Check was things like check tyres/align/all belts/levels/tighten anything you could see & test drive.

Its a cost you can and should certainly negotiate right down - it takes maybe 2 hrs to detail and 2 - 2.5 hrs to check over - tops!”

Personally, I couldn’t give a crap what their DD fee is listed as, it was the final price that mattered. They could have listed it as $85,000 or $2.00, it made no difference. It was the final price that mattered. They are going to shuffle charges, fees and discounts to work as required.

8 Months later you can get the same package I got for about $60,000. And rightly so, any dealer that completely drops their pants on a brand new product should be slapped hard.

Exactly my view as well. Who cares if you get the delivery costs discounted, the bottom line is what matters.

JGC speedo is around 5km/h lower than the actual speed. I test it against Garmin GPS which exactly matched other vehicles, except for JGC.

Sorry, off the topic. Check out this beast. Diesel fuel consumption is much more impressive than JGC with a whopping price tag

Exclamation Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Whilst on the topic of costs, take a look at the State based taxes - Stamp Duty. In particular, here in VIC , up to $60316 the rate is $6 per $200 (3%) of the market value, and if the value is over $60316, the rate is $10 per $200 (5%). For example, if your car value is $60200, stamp duty is $1806, and if your car value is say $60500, the stamp duty is $3030. A massive increase of $1224 for an additional $300 value!!!! It is not calculated like the LCT, whereby it is calculated over the threshold.

Here is a link with comparisons of the states. VIC is still current, not sure about the rest - How much stamp duty will you pay? | carsguide.com.au

That will vary car to car. Ours is under by 1km/h.
I only just noticed yesterday that the in car Sat Nav will also display current speed when you go into the tracking options. I had already gotten home when I was playing with it so didn't use it.
