FLASH: CRUISE CONTROL INOPERATIVE AND/OR....,..

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
A small number of customers may experience Cruise Control lock out (inoperative) after several “+” cruise button inputs attempting to increase Cruise Set Speed. Turning the ignition off and back on will clear the condition.

Thanks for this post Snuke - we've just had a run to Victoria from Bris Vegas (3500 KLM so far with 1500 to go) and the cruise control has stopped 4 times - just as described. I will get it sorted at the dealer next service. Is there any way to reset the cruise without stopping the vehicle?
On another topic where would I find the best info available on wheel alignment settings?

There appears to be no way to reset the cruise once it's failed unless you shut off the car and start again . From early reports the TSB for the cruise control appears to do the trick in fixing this.

Thanks Steve. That gives me something to go on. We will go this morning and have a look. I'd like to think that will solve the problem, but somehow...really concerned that it is going to end up being a 3 way tussle between Jeep, ECB and the company that fitted it (to manufacturers instructions)

Member on here BobT did some work on this a while back and posted the numbers - I can't seem to find the thread though - someone may help.

As I recall all 4 corners are adjustable and this is specialist work.
Setting for QL are different as well.

I strongly suggest you leave ECB well alone until our problem is resolved. Despite stating that the bullbar is suitable for the Overland's ACC system, on Friday, they told the company fitting it that we just need to compromise and put up with the fact that the sensor no longer picks up all vehicles!

They have crossed the wrong girl I am afraid!!

We may need to look at the ARB bar. The design looks much different in regards to the sensor. (thanks to Steve who tipped us off about the plastic surround, I think this is the problem)

We really need to hear from anyone with an ARB fitted to an Overland (if you are out there please reply!)

By the way, Jeep advised our fitters that if it doesn't accommodate the sensor, it voids the warranty.

Buster girl I was just chatting with WadeAus and he mentioned that he drove around with the FCW surround missing for a while and had no issues resulting from it. Sorry to spoil your potential solution.

He's also got some other info on his ARB bar you should hear before changing camps.

Cheers,
Steve

Thanks Buster01 for the info.. Will hold off, if ECB told them to compromise then that is completely unacceptable. I looked at the ARB one but I think what ARB have done for the ACC sensor is as ugly as a dogs dangley bits. Have you contacted ECB directly?

I was looking forward to getting the ECB bar as I have just checked out the new Lightforce Venom HID spotties. They are amazing and will look fantastic on a JGC. They are released in April.

Regards

Auscop

I was just on ECB's web site looking at a bar for a ranger. Thought id look up the Jeep, and found this. " This design creates an extremely strong, tight and good looking fit for the bar, and also allows for full integration of the Overland’s Adaptive Cruise Control Radar System and factory parking sensors into ECB’s Big Tube™ Bar.*"

Id say something hasn't been put back together properly.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I sent 3 emails to ECB on Friday but they didnt reply. I am going by what they told the installers (who took it to Jeep to be recallibrated)

I would be very happy if it was a fitting issue...

Please keep the information coming folks, we are leaving in 4 weeks so I really need to get this sorted.

PS: I dont think any bull bar looks attractive on a Jeep, sometimes though you just have to suck it up!

I can confirm the ACC doesn't need the plastic shroud to work. I lost mine on a camping trip around 4 months ago and it made no difference.
I have an arb bar now but I'm waiting on the bracket to refit the camera to it, when I get it next month I'll let you know how it goes.

I just emailed them too, as I am a "potential" customer.. If they reply I will let you know.

I do agree no bullbar is attractive, but the ECB was the lesser of the evils.

I am guessing there is no nudge bar for the MY14?
