Suffering from the same dilemma. I believe there are nudge bars options but I don't see them doing the job of a dedicated roo bar. We are looking at a lot of touring. Tassie is full of little Kangas and the big Island lots of middlen to Hugh Kangas.
I'd like to see a strap on roo bar which didn't require a full cut replacement. Then SWMBO would argue most of the non touring driving is 65kms each way with lots of the little Kangas so I'm sure she would prefer a long term solution.... I'm leaning towards the revamped Uneek bar available mid to late April he has four cad drawings on his website.

Cheers

Would something like this do the trick?

Black Horse brush guard. You'd have to import it, and it may not fit the export mount points, or you could get something made up.

And it would have to meet ADR.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Do ECB prevent the Kanga coming through the windscreen? Does it's design deflect the kanga down or to the side rather than up and through the screen? It's not all that practical I know but we rarely drive on trips during the night anymore because it is just too dangerous preferring to check into a Motel etc before nightfall. The situation is getting bad though because there are far more kangas today than prior to white settlement. As real farms are displaced by "toy" farmers who do not control Kangaroos because they are cute (and I do too and would never advocate culling them) they are breeding out of control and increasing and moving about in large numbers on suburban outskirts. When we moved into our lovely rural communtiy 50Km north-west of Melbourne 42 years ago you never saw a kangaroo. Now, when driving at night, just on the outskirts of suburbia I set the ACC to 80kmph to the annoyance of everyone behind me because they have no idea how many kangas are on the sides of the roads. I have struck two in the past 3 years (not in the Jeep) and many people I know have had similar experiences and we are talking just 30 to 50 Km from the CBD. The ECB would have been useless on one impact as it was a side impact to the front passenger door. The other one was in my smaller truck and he/she went under the front of the truck with a "bump, bump" from the tyres. I felt really bad.

Unfortunately that bar does not look like it will protect much.

Webber, have you tried shu roo? Its an electronic device that sends out a frequency inaudible to humans, that is supposed to scare them away. Personally I haven't tried it, but friends say they wouldn't drive without them.

I placed a couple of those real cheap ones that just use the movement of the air to work on my old 4wd a couple of years ago when I did my 10000 km Kimberley trip. I had a daughter visiting from the US on the trip who had never seen a roo in the wild. I ended up taping them up over 1/2 way through the trip as we never saw one roo.

Benn0, perfect m8. But that isnt the full picture there, is it. The Black Horse is there as mounting points for your,* FLIR (Forward Looking Infared Radar), * 50cal machine guns, * Grenade launchers * Flare launchers * Roo seeking missile pad.

So, knowing the yanks, they didnt paint the full pucture because of security reasons. I hear the Black Horse system was developed in Afghanistan.

Perfect for Australia.

The road NEVER, I repeat NEVER, to travel on of a night is the Silver City highway between Wentworth and Broken Hill. Havent travelled during the night but the fresh roo count on the road in the daytime means that I wont.

These smaller ones do seem to block the Overlands camera though

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Received the N58 Recall letter in the mail today (well Friday really because I only cleared the PO Box today).

How does it take CJD Australia 4 1/2 months to query their database, merge names and addresses into the standard letter and put into the post?

That was a rhetoric question - I think we all know the answer.

The Aust Gov recall site posted that recall on Nov 11th. Our vehicle was flashed on Nov 14th.

Yet I receive the letter now.

My husband says he has finally figured it out. CJD Australia think they are actually a Government department but I think even Government departments move faster than this lot.

So if you haven't already received the N58 letter, you will shortly.

Doesn't bode well for the Navigation fix letters that are supposedly being sent does it?
