True, but this Ford 'bounced off' our Nissan and continued on down the road behind us. My rep mate was not so lucky, on a trip north in his company Falcon (with bar) he hit 2 Roo's, cut one in half, half of which ended wedged underneath next to the motor, he lost control of the vehicle and it ended up on its side in a ditch, luckily he walked away with a few cuts and bruises. The near new Ford was a total write off.
Personally I believe that the only effective Bar is the steel one mounted to a Mac Truck and the like, as for the rest they are good for parking bingles and nudging the car in front of you.

If this is what they have used, you need to change your oil NOW as it is totally unsuitable for our CRD's.
Lets hope they gave you the wrong info.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Hi all - long time between drinks.

I just put a deposit (couldn't wait anymore) on a new Overland with ORA2, towbar and several other little tricks (I think I did OK on the price). Just wondering if anyone knows when the current MY14 production stops and when the MY15 starts. I know that the MY14 started, if I recall correctly, in March 2013. Any idea anyone - Milous??

Anyone heard of the changes in the MY15 on the Overland? (Perhaps new management? )

I did do a search on this forum for the answers to my two questions but my searching skills are as useless as a one legged man in an ass kicking competition - seriously!!.

I think the MY15 is June/July

Changes for 2015?

Not many changes as far as I've heard.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Bruno, welcome back again.
The earliest we would see MY15 is October. I personally have not really read the MY15 thread because it is just full of conjecture and short on facts. I think the one thing we were certain on was that the windscreen will no longer be glass, and will now be carbon fibre.

From Laredo to Overland, treating yourself.

Ive rang again , have been told its ok to use, I told him it doesn't meet the Chrysler Jeeps oil approval - MS 11106. He said it does. I think he might be telling me BS. I also asked about dumping the oil in the vehicle because it may have got some fuel contamination in crank case from over 180kms stuck in limp mode regeneration. Vehicle was stuck at 78kms/hr flat out, but was using over 10.3lts per 100kms at that low speed. a lot of diesel going through a motor not burning.

He is lying about the oil. Ask him to demonstrate ms-11106 compliance. It must meet ACEA C3, that is the important one.

That was a rhetoric question - I think we all know the answer.

The Aust Gov recall site posted that recall on Nov 11th. Our vehicle was flashed on Nov 14th.

Yet I receive the letter now.

My husband says he has finally figured it out. CJD Australia think they are actually a Government department but I think even Government departments move faster than this lot.

So if you haven't already received the N58 letter, you will shortly.

Doesn't bode well for the Navigation fix letters that are supposedly being sent does it?
Got the recall done when the car went in for a service in Jan. Got the letter about the recall from Jeep yesterday!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Groan...despite sending 3 emails to ECB, we did not hear from them today...when they contact us tomorrow I will ask them:

During R&D for this product, did they have to recallibrate the sensor?
If so, did the sensor work as it did before the bull bar was fitted?
If this bullbar stops my sensor from working how long will it take for them to provide a replacement bumper?
If not, why on earth have they marketed a product that is not fit for purpose?

I emailed ARB asking them to contact us urgently (we both work fulltime so its hard to try and track these people down)...when they contact us tomorrow I will ask them:

During R&D for this product, did they have to recallibrate the sensor?
If so, did the sensor work as it did before the bull bar was fitted?
If so, how soon can they supply a colour coded bullbar?

Then I will tell you all how I go...
