Snuke, you were right! Pictured below was one of the first prototypes of the carbon fibre windscreen. It didn't quite work as well as hoped in the beginning...

Very pleased to see, read and hear from you Captain. You have a great sense of humour although guys like Hymer are trying to take that title away from you. Stay with us mate. I love your colour choice. Bright white with the Light Frost interior (I am not biased - you merely have classy taste). There is going to be some very envious BMW drivers about when they see you driving around......I just can't believe you will be tossing smelly fish in the back of it though.

The Roo Scarer
Thankyou for the imput guys. It's a hard one but I think I will leave it for the time being until more information backing them becomes available. It's a shame we can't get a nicely appointed mini-nudge bar fitted that won't interfere with Sensors and won't hide any of the cars beauty.....REASON...a customer who regularly calls in at the business in his MY13 has the you beaut full on ECB bull bar. He did not like it but needed it BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY he has fitted to this bull bar a very long strip of these very small LED spotlights, a strip of about 20 - 25 mini-lights or more. Now that is something I would like to mount on a nicely appointed mini-nudge bar as I do not want to start drilling holes through the existing panels etc.

From what he tells me, with these stip LED's you really don't need a bull bar because (he claims) these lights illuminate to the distant front and well off to each side of the vehicle to the point of brilliance, virtual daylight. I do hope he is not telling porkies because this could be a helpful remedy to seeing Roos to the front or approaching from the sides but, as stated above, to this point in time nothing is manufactured to mount these in a discreet & subtle way. This customer has them mounted on his ECB but he absolutely swears by them.

GFORCE....
This is not good, just when I was starting to think my manufacturing date meant I had escaped the DPF problems you throw up your experience which means I am back in the melting pot waiting for my turn. I am going to ring my dealer tomorrow to ask if I have the latest software updates to help avoid this potential disaster as my car last went in for a service back in December so could well be at risk. I know I got the N58 update but do not recall them making any mention of an update for "limp home" faults.

ps....I like these colours, they remind me of my ambient lighting.

I wonder if it is because mine started the regen at 80 not 100, could this be the cause of the 'limp mode problem'?
Also be interesting to see when the next regeneration comes up, I am beginning to think that this is a normal function that we will all experience from time to time.

auscop.....Corymbia papuana, did you know that. I am just being a smarty pants but nice photo's. Apart from dust you rarely need to worry about mud on baa baa. It can be a pain, just a shower and my girl has mud everywhere. The occasional sheep dip would keep yours clean.

Sure, we should all experience regens as a normal part of the cars operation. And you may be correct that you were fortunate you were at speed when the 80% message came up.

But others have been on the highway when the 80% message came up, it would not go into regen and shortly after went into limp mode. So it seems for some reason some cars just don't want to regen themselves, when they should be.

Others have been unlucky that when the 80% full message came up they were stuck in traffic and the car went into limp mode a few minutes later. This looks to be a flaw also, there should be more warning to get to a highway and do the regen. My guess is that if you had to stop at a red light when that 80% message came up you'd be dropped in limp mode.

I'd be interested to know you build date, is it mid last year?

Webber, You completely lost me on the gum tree reference. Had to Google it. As for dust it is terrible here. Baa Baa will be only home an hour from her weekly Baa Bath and she will have a thin film of dust over her. Guess I should have got a white sheep like yours.

If this bullbar stops my sensor from working how long will it take for them to provide a replacement bumper?

I emailed ARB asking them to contact us urgently (we both work fulltime so its hard to try and track these people down)...when they contact us tomorrow I will ask them:

During R&D for this product, did they have to recallibrate the sensor?
If so, did the sensor work as it did before the bull bar was fitted?
If so, how soon can they supply a colour coded bullbar?

Then I will tell you all how I go...

Have not heard back from them from my inquiry either. Not sure how they can state:

This design creates an extremely strong, tight and good looking fit for the bar, and also allows for full integration of the Overland’s Adaptive Cruise Control Radar System and factory parking sensors into ECB’s Big Tube™ Bar.

Be good to hear their response... If we get one. I'll have to Google what "Full Integration" means.. I thought it meant the $h!t worked.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Got vehicle back today, motor is reving out + going good again, but gearbox is jumping badly though some of the gears above 80kms/hr. Hoping it will settle back down after a few kms. Engine oil temp guage was showing <50 and red markings each side while driving, so stop/started and is working again. There was no record on EVIC showing any exhaust burns , service guy said it should do them itself while traveling, or give you a warning - not go straight to Limp mode. Hoping no damage has been done to exhaust PDF. American manual tells you not to drive vehicle if it goes into Limp mode, as can cause damage to exhaust system. Waiting for Jeep to get back to me about oil = Caltex Magnatec 5W-40 ?????

That's concerning..... there should be recorded burns/regenerations.....

Might be worth getting them to check for this on the next service, and if none, log a call with Jeep Australia.

I had regen when the mileage was 15km, at speed not exceeding 60kph including stop at traffic light, lasting around 15min, my heart was at the throat when I saw it on EVIC, but luckily no limp mode. There's no more regen since (mileage now 3000km+).
