I got the 14.05.03 uconnect upgrade at the 10k service. No problems,,but now,I have them"apps" icon in the lower right corner all the time. Used to appear ocassionally, then go,away. Only issue is that "settings" is now a sub menu under "apps" - plus, it is frustrating to see all, those apps listed but unavailable - even tho you get similar on a Holden cruze!
Does everyone with 14.05.03 have the apps icon?

Just checked mine - it seems to have touched at some point as there is a slight chip on both points where it touched. There is the slightest gap. This is only apparent on the drivers side. Passenger side has more clearance. I don't think I'll bother with realignment and paint shop - god know what other fault it will come back with!

Didn't you have your Uconnect head unit replaced early on? It sounds like you have a North American unit. Otherwise, FiiK!

Cheers,
Steve

Yeah, NO.
That is not normal. Try a reset

Hold Mute and Tune buttons for reboot. No settings will be lost. I suspect this will achieve nothing.

Factory reset: Hold temp up and down buttons to access engineering menu. This reset will wipe all of your settings and freak you out as the SRT logo appears for a while, the colours change, and it will all look very weird for possibly a few hours.

If this achieves nothing, then re applying the 14.05.03 update yourself via USB is the step I would do.

Yes - when it was first replaced I got the apps icon for a while, then it came and went sporadically, and eventually stayed away altogether, but this time it's hard on. I'll try Nukes suggestion of resets. On the other hand, if I could find somewhere to insert a SIM card.....

Even if you rammed a sim card in there (there isn't a place for one) there is no Sierra wireless card in out units.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Gr8Ness (Overland - White - Australia)
Date ordered: 01/14/2014
Current Status: I
D1 status date: 03/07/2014
Estimated delivery: TBD
Built - Pending Inspection: (I) 03/29/2014 03:37 AM EDT Detroit Jefferson Assembly, MI
In Bay At Facility 03/29/2014 03:42 AM EDT Detroit Jefferson Assembly, MI
************************************************** ************

Current Status I = unit is pending final inspection, quality control

Lets hope that is a thorough and conscientious inspection for quality control.

I will not be happy with clogging DPF, cracking windscreen, crappy navigation system ....

God I hope its not a pain in the arse like some are experiencing with their 'pride and joy'.

Time will tell.

Please wish me luck, as I do for all new Jeep owners who have laid out good money.

As my late father once said to the Honda Accord salesman many years ago. "Nothing wrong with my money, so there better be nothing wrong with this car."

Don't get ahead of yourself. Stop worrying about what might be, it won't alter what will be.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Hi All
I have an MY14 Grand Cherokee Limited with an annoying rattle on the drivers side (australian model) when on a rough road. It sounds like it's either coming from under the dash/steering column area or in the door panel. I've attached a video. You'll hear it about half way through. Be interested if anyone else has had it and if so any success in having the dealer track it down. Any help much appreciated.

Congratulations Gr8Ness and I love the quote by your Dad.

We have our 6th Honda ('09 Luxury Odyssey) in our Garage at the moment, and I've never had any problems with any of them. Just put fuel in them, service them, and they're good to go; no dramas.

I've also owned a 2000 WJ Grand Cherokee Limited V8, which was much more demanding on my wallet and my patience. But you know what?; I loved that Jeep, even with its minor nuances, more than any of my other cars. Good times

The '14 WK2 has come a long way from the WJ. I'm sure that you will love it

It might not alter what will be Snuke, but thanks to this forum I am more aware and am able to mentally prepare myself for what many would consider to be inevitable .....

But like I also said, "Time will tell"

Marty K, As it turned out, that Honda my father bought turned out to be trouble free for the 5 years he owned it, and the two more my brother had it.

That's what I hope for all of us with our new Jeeps.
