I would gladly take a flame-thrower to all 8-legged critters if I could.

But, seriously, I had the Jeep all soaped-up and I was aware they were there so soaped up most thoroughly. Got the hose, washed down all the soap - everything lovely and clean and then I noticed, the webs were all still there. Albeit a bit water-logged but still clinging - all over it. Grill, wing mirrors, pano, front wind-screen. Sort of made a nice pattern on the outside of the wing mirror - all symmetrical and arty.

I 'pinged' a few against the mirror bit (where the BSM indicator is on the wing) and they just stuck even more before I hand-picked them all off.

Clearly I need a different type of wash. I can't use the bug/tar off stuff can I? I mean, not over the entire vehicle? That's just for spot removal isn't it

I dunno. I hate early mornings now. I could take a detour and drive into the neighbours paddock to exit the driveway but I think that might be stretching the friendship.

I wasn't contacted, but have contacted the dealer as mine has failed - I read somewhere the cruise control starts failing if you hold down the + button to increase speed, so it may be a software issue they want to rectify. The problem in my case also relates to the other steering wheel controls....so not sure if this is software either?????

OK seriously.....there are products on the market which inhibit the formation of cob webs, but you would have to spray on your trees. Not sure if this is an option???

I hadn't actually thought of that Domo. I was sort of thinking about a different, more robust type of car wash liquid but am certainly not opposed to spraying the Leylandii's although I may need Webber's help here because I don't want to kill them - they form the initial entrance avenue.

Webber - Can you tell me what to spray to kill the evil webs that envelop the Jeep each morning and will only get worse as the season lengthens. Currently I'm smashing two - within a few weeks there will be four to drive through. (Can you PM maybe - a Jeep forum is not perhaps the best place for tree/gardening advice. I would be most appreciative. )

On the balance of probabilities, your new Jeep should be fine but you know what to look out for.
I spent my formative years in the west. Folks had a family home in Gosnells corner of King and Blanche. Council turned out into a park, condition of sale when Dad sold after Mum died. Family home is the one on the high side of the block. So I know Madington well.

Will be looking forward to seeing how you fare. I hope the dpf issue gets sorted. Jeep need a HUGH lesson in PR and PARTS supply, they seem hesitant to put anything in writing, repeatedly referring me back to the Dealer for anything written.
All the best Chooke.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Received my as built 'Multi VIN Summary Report' from Milous overnight.

All is as it should be, colour and of the interior and exterior and all. Thankfully I have not been subjected to the Rocksfly Syndrome. At least I wont have to keep myself busy chasing JA to sort colours.

With an expected delivery date of late May/early June I must now seriously start planning the 'modifications' that I have considered.
- Swap (with another forum member?) my 20in Overland wheels for Laredo 18's fitted with Cooper AT3's (for óff-road' work) and buy aftermarket set of black "Spider Monkey 20's" (if the offset etc allows)
- Black vinyl wrap the lower air dam, grill piece and mirrors,
- Swap or paint the exhaust tips black,
- Mopar towbar and wiring, Anderson Plug and brake controller (P3) for caravan towing duties,
- Smoked black Bonnet protector,
- Dark tint front door windows.

That should do it.

Time to get busy reading some more Jeep forum threads....

Gr8Ness.

Hi Snuke, I remember a little while ago that you found a TSB on clicking noises in seats, I have searched the forum and can't seem to find it. Would you have it handy at all ? Cheers Beggsy
