Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

SJ&L said; I would gladly take a flame-thrower to all 8-legged critters if I could.

What good is a flame thrower against an Underwater Octopus???

And another thing, Whats the Jeep doing in deep water anyway?????

Did I??? Fair enough, I don't recall that.

All TSB can be found here - Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 - Grand Cherokee Service Bulletins and Recalls

I don't see one for the MY14 and seats.

I just checked the titles of the 393 threads I am subscribed to. and none of the ones with "seat" in the title are noise related.

The leak itself is very small, I only detected it because I have a painted concrete floor in the garage.
I'd encourage other owners to have a look underneath, it drips from the sump plug.
I noticed a few months ago I had an oil leak but it seems to be getting bigger. I'm at 20,500kms so due for the 20k service Which I will get around to in the next few weeks, can it wait till then to mention it or is it something I need to deal with sooner

It's not going to lower the oil level if that's what you mean Bretto. It really depends on whether the mess is driving you mad, or offends your environmental sensibilities.

Cheers,
Steve

Awesome, cheers mate.

Doesn't really bother me, will karcher it off at some point. Was just a bit worried when I saw other ones were doing it, that I should be more concerned about it and get it looked at now.

If your leak is from the upper sump area, it is a major labour intensive job to fix. Expect three days work which is the time it took to fix my leak, and another I am aware of. The oil was dripping from the sump plug area.

Hi there, did you notice if your other steering controls were working when the cruise control didn't. In my case, I have no steering wheel controls at all - including the horn. Effectively my car is unroadworthy. I have it booked for Monday.

But, seriously, I had the Jeep all soaped-up and I was aware they were there so soaped up most thoroughly. Got the hose, washed down all the soap - everything lovely and clean and then I noticed, the webs were all still there. Albeit a bit water-logged but still clinging - all over it. Grill, wing mirrors, pano, front wind-screen. Sort of made a nice pattern on the outside of the wing mirror - all symmetrical and arty.

I 'pinged' a few against the mirror bit (where the BSM indicator is on the wing) and they just stuck even more before I hand-picked them all off.

Clearly I need a different type of wash. I can't use the bug/tar off stuff can I? I mean, not over the entire vehicle? That's just for spot removal isn't it

I dunno. I hate early mornings now. I could take a detour and drive into the neighbours paddock to exit the driveway but I think that might be stretching the friendship.

Perhaps you need a new website ???

Barry.

A detailer has recommended a product to me called Autoglym Active Insect remover so I shall give that a whirl.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Who do I complain to if the dealer isn't helpful?

got a thread off the steering wheel that is working it's way loose off the whole wheel only after 1 month of use and chipping of steering wheel next to the cruise button from a fingernail !
showed a supposedly helpful dealer in gold coast. But warranty denied about the thread coming off. What ticked me off was yet cut the thread without asking so now it's pulling out even further down the wheel . and they said chipping on the steering wheel was wear and tear. .. Really? After 2months ?
Who do I complain to at Jeep australia ? Anyone got a number or email address?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

That's terrible fireball. Last service I raised that there was a slight bubble pattern under the upholstered section of the door trim that hadn't settled in (out really). New door trim ordered without any discussion.

Defects on steering wheels are usually an immediate defect as far as road authorities are concerned. Maybe hit them with a bit of that angle.

Cheers,
Steve
