Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Hi All,

Maybe I'm having a blond moment but I hear that many are having issues with their "DPF" and "limp-mode".

Is this something that Adobe and Pfizer could fix??

Ah yes... the version of Adobe for dyslexics could just be the answer. "Converting to PDF" might be a viable option to an illegal "delete".

Nice pics! I'm off the Fraser on Monday, unfortunately my Jeep isn't here yet, so I'm taking my 100 series cruiser.

Did you get the airdam dragging? Looks like it survived without damage. I was talking about situations where the airdam drags. Won't happen all the time, but it will happen on more challenging tracks.

Would be nice to see some one design an air dam that would give protection to the radiator etc but reduce the potential damage to it and increase the front clearance

Surely we have some smart people with access to a 3 D printer that could make a replacement part.

Waste of time talking to JEEP they don't seem interested in the 4x4 capabilities of these vehicles and their customers.
I know it would be a waste of our breath to talk to JA.

Hi All, Just to let you know there is an alternative oil suitable for our Diesel Engines, other than Mobil 1. Please refer to this post: CRD oil on special

Cruise control recall done. Apparently they also did a flash update for the DPF that is meant to stop the limp mode or help with it - havent heard about this one but they reckon its been done.

We never had any issues with it anyways so hopefully this keeps it away.

That's interesting, some have been told it doesn't apply to Oz, and others have been told they will only apply it if the problem occurs. Perhaps some dealers are being proactive to avoid the problem.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Has anyone else here had the low oil pressure alarm flash up on steep hill climbs? I was halfway up quite a steep hill climb the other day when the low oil pressure alarm came up on the display and immediately killed the engine . I was not impressed but I guess I should be grateful it didn't put the car into limp mode... I checked the oil level afterwards and it was all good so I'm assuming it was due to the angle the car was on?
Also does anyone else reckon the air suspension on the overlands is utter crap on corrugated roads?

I've read that comment before, did you try airing down the tyres? Something I like about the Landcruiser air bags is you can reduce the stiffness on bumpy roads, then turn it back up for cornering.
