Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Just looked it up for curiosity. The Melbourne International Car show opens 28th June to 7th July. Exhibitors List is still to be displayed.
Surely we will know before then as far as being able to place solid, properly qualified orders.
However, I suspect Chrysler Aust. will not want us driving around in MY14's prior to the show so when dealers guestimate a June/July date for your car its looking more like July or later.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

You guessed right Webber.

Its a bit like Vic Govt not opening up Peninsula Link because the Roads Minister was O/S and we had to wait till he got back from his junket so he could have his photo op.

So Chrylser etc management at HO wont want any JGC MY14's on the road to spoil their big release and photo op at Melbourne in June.

If thats the case then August Sept is going to be closer to the mark.

Wonder if the Euros have opened their order books now its been released at the Geneva motor Show?

Yeah, thanks, August/September. it"s not good how they play with you and lead you on is it. why don't you propose that question to Gigi_boy on the main forum. He has been off the air for a few weeks now. I wonder if he gave up waiting for his Summit over their. It would be nice to hear from him.

What sort of 2013 inventory are you guys seeing at your dealers? Are they really loaded or with them? Do they hold vehicles at the port for storage, feeding them to dealers as needed? Just trying to get an idea of how many '13s are out there, enough to last for months and months?

There were at least 4 on the floor / main yard at the two dealerships near my girlfriend's place in Sydney, and plenty more out the back. They're not likely to runout before the 14 is released.

I am not in a position to guage that. Don't know how they work but dropped in to Essendon Chrysler Friday night and noticed a clear reduction in the Grand cherokees. Limiteds and Laredo's only....they appear to be out of Overlands. Could not see an SRT either unless hidden out the back but was surprised as to the number of vehicles missing from the main display area around the shop. They have been selling something which is good to see. I regularly drop in to get my weekly "fix", not sure why though because they are 12's & 13's. It the 14 I need to eyeball.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

By the way Milous. There are only 23 million of us in a country as large as yours. I was told that just one American Dealership sells more Grand Cherokees than all our dealerships combined in a year. Don't know if that's true but it goes to show how big that American market is.

Hey Milous,

Doing a quick search on carsales.com.au where most dealers advertise. The whole country retuned 32 MY12 and 48 MY13. So I don't think there are many around.

Milous, the dealership I'm working with is sold out of Overlands and most others but city Jeep advise they still have plenty of stock so I think it depends from dealer to dealer and how much they ordered. Some would have thought the MY13 was going to see them through all year so may have ordered a lot. Not sure if HQ is controlling the supply or if its at a dealer level.
Quick search hear indicates about 600 units for sale ( ha ha one days work for you ! )
http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/...x&sort=default

The diesels are what'll sells here so most stock left on the market is V6 and V8 petrol

Hey Mark,

They are not all new stock, lots of demos and secondhand also in there along with some MY11. Actual new stock is what I posted.

Yep I corrected, new stock much lower.. Probably a few hundred still on the boat/in transit but given they sold about 8000 last year I suspect stock will run dry by April /May or before.. Thoughts? Sooner they run out the better for us !
