Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

This is a repeat of a post I did in another thread:
Does anyone know the rim width of the steel spare in the 2014 JGC? My guess is that it's 7", but it could be 7.5". Very difficult to measure with the tyre on.
Thanks, Russell

It should be stamped on the inside. Most steel wheels are

The only thing I can see stamped on the inside is the part number - and a search on that doesn't bring up anything useful.

Thanks iboughtajeep. You inspired me to check further. I took the wheel out (should have done it sooner!) and the size is stamped on the OUTSIDE. It's 8". Which is a bit surprising, as I think the road wheels are only 8.5".

Has anybody wired up their own spotlights ??????
I'm in the middle of doing so and am struggling to identify the the high beam wire. Any help/info would be great.
Thanks in advance.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Info from Traktor on driving light wires:

Trigger for Driving Lights

There are a couple posts that state:
remove passenger side plastic in engine bay
remove air filter
passenger side light, look for white and green wire

TRAKTOR's advice

There are two wires that are white and green
Wire one is white and an olive green. THIS IS NOT THE ONE YOU NEED.
Wire two is white and green (sort of darker). YOU WANT THIS ONE.

Works like a charm.

You can get power from the fuse box in the engine. There are lots of solid earth points beneath various screws.
Will post some pics later.

You also do not have to remove the plastic. You can unclip the rubber around the air filter.

I have been working from the drivers side. I shall check if the same wire is there, otherwise I'll join the wire to extend it enough to reach the passenger side.

That is the Hound from Game of Thrones. If you watch that show especially the most recent episode it should make sense.

Here is a little of what it is about.
