I believe Kevin has the guts of the issue.....

As Ally has frequently pointed out - the frustrations you guys are going through is nothing new and has been standard for the WK2 model to date.

We ordered one of the early CRD's in September 2011, it arrived in Brisbane in February 2012 and was delivered to the dealer in mid March 2012. Just getting through Prixcars in Brisbane took almost 4 weeks.
Despite many, many phone calls and visits to our dealer I was never able to get an E number - and if you go back a loooong way in this section of the forum you'll see posts confirming I wasn't a lone ranger in that regard. Nothing has changed, it seems to be the luck of the draw with dealer policy.
There are members here who found by checking their build sheet that mistakes had been made in the order process and what had been built now had a wrong option, body or interior colour. By limiting external publication of order numbers, Jeep have a built in fudge factor whereby they may be able to divert a stock or imminent vehicle to cover an order or build problem. They are not the only manufacturer to operate this way.
While I think it is a great idea to track your build and Milous does a great job, you'll need patience through the order, build and shipping process.
I and many others have been there and done that, in the meantime there is plenty to look through and anticipate (thanks again to Milous), over at WK2Jeeps.com - 2011-2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee menu page

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

It took weeks of badgering Jeep AU directly to get my E number. I ended up speaking to the national sales manager to get my number. During this time I found they did not have any allocation of my order. I had placed my order in May 2011 and found out in July that I would need to wait until December if I wanted the dark grey. I could get silver in September, so I chose that option. My dealer had NFI about this situation and it seemed that the squeaky wheel gets the E number.
I was very persistent in pursuing my order and E number, as I was very annoyed by the poor communications in Jeep.
It is very pathetic to see that Jeep are still as bad at communicating with their dealers and clients. I would hate to think how many people give up and order something else. It just seems like their either do not give a shit or are a bunch of rookies.
I can only suggest you contact Jeep in Melbourne and try to speak to someone with a clue. You could also try Facebook or Tweeting them directly.

These achieve nothing.
Which is extremely odd these days as most companies see that this is a very public forum of direct contact and normally respond with gusto.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I agree that what Jeep Aust appear to be doing on the Facebook page is dumb. However, I would also recommend you voice your displease on that site so all and sundry can see.
I would pose the question.. " Why, when I have placed an order, and paid a deposit for a Jeep, can't I get confirmation that my order has been placed?"
Better still, place the comment on the US Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/jeep?fref=ts.
If they cant be shamed locally, go International.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

That is a good idea Ally.
I cannot post on the AU facebook site, as they banned me when I posted the moose test link. Shows me how pathetic they really are with social networking. I am sure the US will be more understanding

Jeep USA have a customer contact link on their corporate web site. It is meant for USA customers but you can easily make up a false address to get through the mandatory fields on the form. I explained in the comments section of the form that I was in aus and appealed for assistance due to inaction by jeep in Melbourne. Worked a treat. Jeep USA chased Melbourne on my behalf on several occasions.

I don't have the links handy - I'm away at the moment ( up the coast at the beach and it is pouring!) but they are easy to find on google.

Im note saying you will get a result, but if enough aus people contact USA direct, eventually they must take notice. The squeaky wheel....

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Yes, I've ordered my Overland with the Inigo Blue and Jeep Brown interior (bottom photo). It wasn't on the order sheet, but I do so hope they get it right. Maybe that magical E number will assist me in making sure I get what I ordered.

Love the light frost with the deep brown dash etc. This is my selection. Very nice.

So

I'm seriously thinking of ordering one, but with no direct confirmation from Jeep AU regarding specific option availability and pricing-it seems like a rather superfluous attempt.

I'd like a 2014 bright white LAREDO CRD With quadra lift, front & rear parking sensors, blind spot warning and a sunroof(I don't know If these are reasonably priced are standard here in AU or not. Just wondering what would be the "drive away" price on something like this here in NSW?

Plus no one has still gotten me a copy of the new Jeep extended warranty nor does anyone )the financial department who sells the extended warranty seem to know anything about exactly what this new warranty has to offer??????

Was everyone else given a "solid" quote on their order is is all of this an educated guess until such time as Jeep AU decide to release the specs/pricing options to the rest of us?

Disappointing really

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I would also like a 2014 bright white LAREDO CRD With quadra lift, front & rear parking sensors with dashboard display, Off-road Adventure II and after market leather. My wife would also like the Electric Dual Pane Panoramic Sunroof and we may need to move to the Limited if we really want this.

However, I do not think that the Parksense system will be offered as an option on the Laredo (only available with front and rear sensors in the Summit in the US). Nor is the Pano sunroof. The Limited allows these options but at a hefty cost.
